It won't hold on for long , Carl did this ,bolted it on with one bolt and bodged the other ,from what we herd it came off on the M40 on the way to the Dyno

you will find, soaking overnight with plus gas and then warming the nut up will have a massive advantage when removing these.. I always cut 1 side of the nut off with a small hacksaw blade and then the nut simply opens up and breaks in 2. This leaves the stud, clean up with a die nut and normally you are ok.

A bit late now but exactly the same thing happened to me. I couldn't use a welder where the bike was so, filed flats on the stub of the stud, used lots of heat and a pair of flat jawed mole grips. It finally came out.

Getting a good grip (with the flat jawed grips) on the stud was the trick.

Seems like it's a drill and helicoil job for you now.

I think so, but none of my HSS drill bits are making a dent in it. It seems to be made of tungsten! I've got a decent DeWalt drill and matching bits but thinking a garage may have tougher gear?

Does it have a bit of broken easyout left in it? No standard HSS drill bit will touch that.

Nope, it's just the body of the bolt still in there.

Thought I would start to wiring in my sparkbright battery monitor on the CBF along with the eastern beaver switched fuse box. Well the fairing was a bloody nightmare to get off, then I found how shocking the previous owners wiring of the heated grips. So I have to undo all the work he done. Caused its sh1t I will remove them completely. Have to order some new grips now. So I have not got much further than removing the fairings and chip a load of shite wiring out.

Finished the bike's new home. All I need to do is build the ramp for the front next weekend and I can start creating space in the garage so I can get around to finishing the damn thing.

Removed wheel and forks, got some wavys discs to go on, new tyre
Fork oil and paint the lowers

The Leo Vince cans & links that were on the Custard Crumble were looking a bit sad, so gave them a spruce up, came out nice as it happens...

Ripped the fek out of a pair of trews as I kept catching them on the bar sticking out of the padockstand...

Drill a hole in an old squash ball and stick it on the end.
Works with rod and square types of stand....

Gave the front of the engine a good Gunking,
then took the starter motor off and gave that a good clean
ready for painting

Took the bird in to have an engineers report done as the insurance requested (only after I took out the policy) because it was a cat,c back in 2013 !
