I said I wouldn't start modifying this one, but none of us actually believed it, did we.....

engine builder who did my head porting had performance SP cams in the shelf (I saw it). When you get there let me know, I will ask if he still have it

Fortify, me. O Lord, for I am beset by the temptations of Satan, and Stephan's mate who has shiny forbidden-ness......
Oh, bolox, what's his name and contact details again?

No, don't worry; I really don't want to get into the engine just yet.
I'll let you know if I am serious- and when.
Thanks

Well, I have to do the flapper mod, blank off the exhaust air bleed system, remove all of the unnecessary gubbins (saving weight) and stop the heads off to remove the quietening gears first.
I'm currently earning the money for that lit by resurrecting a Gsxf from the dead; neglected for 8 months and a dodgy battery and alarm are putting up a fight atm.
Not enough money in the PayPal account to buy cams for a while, I'll have to get a few more Storm bits sold first.

Checked the tyre pressures today as I've been meaning to for months ! Well I ain't checked them since the tyres were fitted in October .
I know I'm supposed to check them every week at least but you can really feel it when there low on the bird with it being such a heavy bike especially on the front end .
Now theses tyres have done nearly 7k so far and they were 1psi down on both front and rear :-)
That ain't bad at all is it ?.

Stripped and cleaned the brakes on Dendrob. They're poxy sliding caliper jobs but if they're kept clean and a bit o copaslip on the sliding bits they do an acceptable job.

I've just got back from a quick 130 mile blast after setting the suspension as per a Guy on the CB Forum.
To start with it seemed a bit hard and a bit quick to return, but after a little bit if fettling it does seem far better.
On the good roads its a vast improvement, it was a bit harsh in some of the pot holey forest roads though. It does hold a line better in the fast bends. Going up the A35 it was great through the long bends and the steering seems much better since lubed up the headstock bearings etc.
All in all really happy with it. and the buble throttling off from 10,000 revs is very addictive. still crap on fuel though. not a lot better than the Storm really.

Good do's. Suspension really is a trade off isn't it. You get it better to suit one type of road, it's worse on another. You just gotta decide on your favorite type and go with that.
Personally I ride a lot on very twisty and hilly roads, which happen to be quite bumpy and pot holey.

Most people spend a fortune on exhaust systems, link pipes, Power commanders etc but leave suspension, with dry bearings or the crap original stuff. With decent suspension you can normally ride far better than any exhaust mod can give you.
Do the suspension then upgrade the rest. I had my forks Rodgered and the WP rear shock fitted and the bike was totally different and far better.
On the CB i have better forks but have the standard rear shock but it does seem better. The plan will be to get a Ohlins shock on Bonus day!

Yesterday, fired up the Viffer and ran her up to temp and did a little cleaning on her! Today, on the Storm, did a bit of ocd swinger, hugger and rear wheel cleaning and fitted the standard cans I purchased from the king of lube

A little more cleaning, private plate off then up for sale
