Glad too hear all went to plan, apart from the small hiccup of the trumpet screw, well done :!:

I can't think what could have caused your throttle to not be working properly, as the job you've just done doesn't involve touching the throttle side. I don't suppose the rubber hand grip on the throttle has slid up against the throttle housing :?: as that happens on my bike from time to time, that stops the throttle from returning freely.

regretfully not..... but thanks for the comment
I experienced that hiccup whilst fitting new grips with too much grip glue, now they are soooo solid to the throttle housing they're going no where!
I'll let you know if it persists and/or my findings.....

It sounds like you're going to have to strip her down again. If you remove everything you did before right down to having the carbs on display (IE air box base removed) you can then see if the problem still exist. If it does then it's either a cable issue or one of the carb slides are sticking. If you slacken off the throttle cables you should be able to tell if it is one of the cables. Do that first before looking into the carbs. Also check nothing has fallen into the intake track of the carbs, even though you placed rags in all openings.

One of our members even had one of the small filters from the airbox stuck into the carb opening :!:

And one of our members  when modifying his cct's ,reasembled the air filter box without removing the rags from the carbs .
