I used to run oval Microns, but they were just too anti-social.........I started my bike beside my neighbours caravan one day, when he was in it, and he came running out saying that things had fallen off the shelves!!!,
But it was not to keep him happy, it was to try and be a bit less obvious when I was having a bit of fun, realy loud pipes make you sound faster than you are, and they [Plod in the worst case, but just bike haters in general] can hear you from further away.
So my compromise is std pipes with the full baffle removed, its about 60 or 70% of the Micron.
And like others on hear, Ii go past horses on idle, or stop.........Dut I do the same when I am trail riding, so not sure if that is just a good habit I had already developed.
Riding on Thunder, Do you have baffels in or out?
Re: Riding on Thunder, Do you have baffels in or out?
well yesterday i put the baffels in after a lot of neibours complained, it set off two car alarms at 3am other night comming into the estate and my dad's not impressed said he could here me twating it down the motorway to Preston
any way put the baffels in and its a lot quieter!
before you could feel it thumping from 10feet behind it, now you cant feel it from 2 feet!
i will be taking them back out because i havent fitted the left can properly its not seated correct on the link pipe under the bike and its blowing, so perfect excuse get them back out and take out those fun killing baffels.
going on a ride to wales next sunday with a mate with a storm so might fit them back in for the day as they can be right tosses in Wales (the Plod)
as for the horse issue i genraly stop and just idol or ride past at alomst tick over, ive ridden horses and know they aint a lot of fun to be on when there 'spooked'
as for boy racers with there loud music and fog lights on 24/7 in there car i usualy pull along side and give it a good hand full of throttle let them know what a real engine sounds like and not a just a back box on there Nova's
