Maybe, but think what the wiggly grain will do with your airflow fluid dynamics, and the rear edge release needs a smoke test at least- might be worth .1 or .2 of an MPH, and over that distance........

Yeah, it's marine ply and covered with yatch varnish wanted to stand half a chance if the Ferry sank. .

Noticed you went for dome head screws as well Pete, Good thinking Cheese heads would cause more drag and you want any air or gases that build up behind you to flow away freely, into Dave's helmet vents if possible
