re the bike that fell over.... got told yesterday by a little bird (well, fat bloke!) that one fell off his bench recently & it cost him a small fortune to fix back up.
no mention of who's it was or what bike... didn't think to ask at the time!
sh1t happens tbh, bet he was gutted, you know what he's like, very passionate about bikes.

It was my SP2 and it didn't fall off the bench. It was on a rear paddock stand with front end lifted an inch of the ground when the overhead webbing strap failed. All since fixed up, including Roger coming to the house a few times as he only lives down the road. Would I go to him again ? - absolutely, he is a top class bloke and no doubt many on here have benefited from his advice and work on thier bikes.

Yep - that's the one. all sorted now, better in fact given new tank etc - went in for upgrade to the front forks which has made a big difference too!.

Yours will be the blue and yellow moriwaki track/race bike sitting next to mine for a week or two - very nice indeed, Roger pointed out all the trick bits, one of three that were built I think he said and the only one still running ?

anyway, heres my SP2 fully recovered

That is my bike, Roger has done a full engine rebuild on it, unfortunately it needed it. Looking forward to getting it back.. I do like those colours on the SP...

Hi Pete,

New springs & things as below and the front dropped about 10mm to the third ring, this is a road set up for me at 16 stone as the diets haven't worked yet.....
Far better feedback from the front with oe set up reckoned to be a bit harsh, although I would be kidding myself if I thought I was getting anywhere near the limit either before or after the upgrade Very noticable improvement though

I've had the same upgrade. Not only are the internals upgraded, Roger does some machining inside. These are 'b8stard' Fireblade forks (Roger's words). They tried to fix some of the issues from the SP1, which they did but then others were highlighted.

I've noticed a lot more confidence in the way I ride. It feels more compliant, meaning not as harsh and when leant over, it feels significantly more planted. Money well spent.

I hated the original set up too. I found it worked great on a really smooth surface but anything a bit bumpy or under hard braking it just couldn't hack it.
Gilly, you're quite right, you need confidence in the front end it makes riding the bike so much more rewarding. I've only gone the Hyperpro route but it's still a vast improvement and they are a lot more predictable now plus I can lift the back wheel under braking and it doesn't shoot down the road like its a pogo stick as soon as I hit a bump

Were you in Lancaster/Morecambe this weekend? pretty sure I saw that bike going into the estate near the Asda roundabout?
