anyone tried that new shell stuff that's sposed to give you more miles per tank?
filled up with regular unleaded this morning and got 127 to the light, this afternoon on the new fuel got 110 lol, but was wellying it somewhat.

any opinions on differrent fuels vs economy vs performance?
in my mg i will only use superplus type unleaded with 97 octane, seems to run a lot better on it.
tried it in the storm but tbh can't say it's any better for the extra 10p a L

Had a cashier in a garage tell me the fuel works in his "BMW" bike and should be good in mine but suspect this is a bit guff ,supposed to have friction reducers in it to help with extra MPG.

What MG have you got ?

Cheers PB.

annoying thing was, i had a rover 600ti with a belting honda engine in it but ended up scrapping it cos the rolling gear was fkt.
the engine wouldve gone straight in the zr :Ball Kick:

Oh right same car i have , i bought it ten years ago as a run around and still keep it in a lockup , the engine ( T16 turbo ) was actually a rover lump ,most people think they were honda ! a few people i know have stuck em in ZR's as you say a fairly straight forward transplant , very reliable engine capable of 250 bhp for a low budget, but any more takes forged pistons, upgraded intercooler, and money lol.

Mine is running 12.5 psi and around 240 bhp with a bigger turbo, rally intercooler, lsd ,blah blah etc. ) 0-60 standard is 7.2 so mine must be around the 6.2 mark i would say.

I have had it on the rollers with a graph, but have since added a bigger turbo to it and it hasn't been on the rollers since due to spending money on the vtr lol.

when i got the 600, it was a straight swap for a fiesta, the guy explained it was mint but had been underwater, ex director's car and had been in a flood or sumat.
said they'd put a new engine in it.
so they stuck a prelude engine in which was a straight swap for the rover lump.
went like stink lol!
i kept it for years cos of that reason, sat on my drive for 2 years fkt, then got rid and bought a laguna :redface dont ask.
got rid of that and got the zr.

get my new mazda 6 in a week or 2  (and a little pressie for meself) :shh:

When I first bought my Storm,it was on standard cans.I was getting a consistent 42mpg.

I fitted a pair of Blue Flames,(too, release the rumble  ) & serviced the bike. After this,I'm getting between 45/48mpg.

It gets about 140miles to reserve,with a 16ltr tank.Which isn't bad,for what the bike will do.

I tried to get more mpg by putting diesel in mine today.....

And I bet it was at an Esso station, cos the diesel is a bluey green colour not black colour like everyone else, I did the same.

current record for mine 1s 188 miles before i made it to the petrol shop - 140 before the light :o
it took 18.5L off me (that's a 19L tank obviously) ...so that was as close as i ever want to go lol, averaging 10 miles / L, which is what> about 45mpg?
not bad imo considering what i've done to it.... that was a mix of mway, town & A roads, not exactly taking my time either

previous best was 178 on the way to bulldog, with 44 already on the odo, filled up 17L so figured it could do better.
i might try strapping a gallon to the seat & see how far it can go at a push, with frugal riding, i reckon over 200 miles isn't impossible.
