I did same mod on mine, then adjusted till almost no slack, but on full right lock the throttle was very slow to close. Tried re routing cables and everything, but only solution was to put some slack back into the cable in straight ahead position.

Don't want you to have throttle hang open when you turn bike round
Ddin't you say you'd added a little "bump" under the second part of the travel?

That will have the effect of increasing the rolling radius, and shortening the cable.
Might just be that causing your problem.....

A variable rate throttle could be done, but you'd need to machine a corresponding "hole" in the lower pulley at the right place, I'm not sure that would be particularly easy to get right.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

tony,
no I didnt try and add any ramps, was just a constant thickness. The problem is just one of relative length of the inner & outer cables changing slightly as the get pulled into the tightest bend when the bars are at full right lock. I tried various way of re routing the cable, and couldnt fix it, so just have to keep a little bit of lash in there in the straight position to allow for the change at right lock

also added a bit more thickness after 1/2 throttle.
That was what caught my eye....
