Cheers again guys, I'll try to blag a go on one of the team 17-71 storms to get an idea, but in all honesty I've struggled to gel with twins in the past. Owned a Guzzi V11 and did a lot of miles on an RSV-R ape, but about 17 years of running fours is a hard habit to break.

i put up with 20 years of IL4s before going for the vtrs - tbh i now much prefer the lazy motors & power on demand.
more recently, i found the zx750 too tiring to ride on the road at speed.
bad comparisons you have there tbh as the guzzi is too lazy and unresponsive whereas the ape is too revvy for my liking.

Interestingly enough the Guzzi was a hoot to ride, the fuel injection was really sharp and it really loved being revved. Handled nicely too but the torque reaction of the crank and shaft drive were offputting until you got used to it. Main problem was the weight though.
I did test a storm and a vfr800 about 9 years or so ago and liked the storm a lot (hated the viff though) but was put off by the thirst and tank range. Thats not an issue now I've quit road riding. Will try and blag that go on one of the 17-71 bikes now you have reminded me of that test.

Hi, and welcome.
Those 17-71 bikes have had a fair bit of work done to them......
A couple of good tricks there that I've decided to "borrow" myself, particularly the clutch conversion.
Hopefully meet up next time you lot are at Brands, what's your race number?

I run #41 on an H1 ZXR750 painted in Kork Ballington colours.

Interesting (?) fact about Kork Ballington, from the film Speed, Love & Loss. During his 10 years racing at the top flight he lost 35 friends through crashes. Pretty high attrition rate in the 70's.

I lost 35 friends through accelerating once......
Unfortunately they knew the way to the pub, and I didn't.
