Great idea Seb421, we shall have a whole set of paper gasket templates in the end. Will save user's a fortune. Just so you know, your mediafire link is down. not sure if mediafire have removed it for copyright infringment  whicky's links (no pun intended  ) still work.

Not saying your templates are copywritten but mediafire scans it's system and if they see the word Honda, might mistake it for somthing else.

When uploading stuff to mediafire or other fileservers it's best to put the file inside a zipped folder, then put that zipped folder inside a folder compressed in the rar format with a password. Name that folder somthing generic so that when medifire scans it's system for copywritten files it can not see anything.

Keep up the good work.

There's stuff a lot cheaper than that. It does not have to be Green!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from= ... sket+paper
In the past on cars, I have just used a bit of cardboard, because basically that's all it is except it's oil and water resistant. You do get cork gaskets as well. And head gaskets are generally lined on the inside perimeters, cylinders, water holes etc with tin/ally, hence the expense.

But in this case, these are just your cheap cheerful cardboard type.

I don't want to use just chopped crushed cardboard. I thought the blue / green material was oil and fuel resistant whereas the paper card mess was just for thermostat housings?

This rover v8 I just rebuilt gas every type of gasket material available used on it!

I wasn't suggesting you use just cardboard, but pointing out the option of cheaper alternatives out there on eBay which are water and oil resistant.

We never know on forums what someones financial status, knowledge or skill level is. Just trying to helpful Karlos!

Anyways, seems like you know what you are doing.

my apologies carl i was at work and had to bash in a sneaky reply before i got busted, i didnt mean to come across as facetious.

what i mean is theres different gaskets to do different things. as an example the v8 has a papery one for the water pump, composite tin / weird stuff for the inlet, metal compression for exhaust and head and a totaly crap cork affair for the sump. my volvos original engine had a greeny bluey one for the inlet manifold for fuel resistance i guess. so really i would say the greeny blue stuff wins

Who's being a naughty boy then

I don't have that problem as I'm self employed. Could do with someone looking over my shoulder cracking the whip at times, as I get easily distracted by thing's like this, eBay, the list goes on.
