I was at the Oakdene at about 10am yesterday hoping to meet you guys and saw the bootsale and general chaos. Drivers u-turning and pulling out all over the place. One of them nearly hit my girlfriend on her Hornet.

I had a similar incident in 2002 when a bloke u-turned his Jag into my ZX-6R, I was riding past a queue of traffic in London and he u-turned straight into me!! I was doing about 15-20 mph, so not hurt. Bike a write off though, due to ally frame hitting curb. I walked away from it and went to Munich the next day. Lucky for me I had 3 witnesses and the Jag driver had to admit liability.

Get well soon MDJ!!

Get well soon!

Get better soon Mark! I hope your recovery goes smoothly and that the court case goes your way. Try using the other Mark (Knopfler) defence and get the driver deported! Having had my own 'incident' recently I know how it mucks with your brain so take it easy when you get back on your wheels.

Best o'luck

Great idea. Don't think he is still in, unless he rang me from a call box. I will try his mobile and find out.

Spoke to him this morning. He's out of hospital but going back the the fracture clinic today. He says thanks for the messages and would like to meet anyone anytime as long as his boss(girlfriend) says its all right. Not on the bike of course.

unlucky :( :(

Have you thought about claiming off the organiser of the car boot. If the traffic around there is bad all the time he must have been aware and should have done something about it. If you contact the council they will tell you who the organiser is. All this is assuming you were not in the wrong.

well, 8O thanks everyone. really gave me a massive boost to hear of the response so cheers everyone :D

Im getting there slowly, arm now less painfull. Back will follow, at the mo i have to sleep sat up because of broken humerous which has to kinda hang to heal straight. Its a pain in the butt cos I have 3 tears on my butt 2 have pretty much healed however 1 is nxt to my butt hole (sorry) and isnt healing much, just wombles takin its time.

generally I'm in good spirit (tryin anyhow) and well appreciate all your messages. "I get knocked down, but I'll get up again..." and I may even get another storm....

good idea 2004 sp1, my solicitors (courtesy of Honda fully comp cover) are on it already, Ill mention about the car boot organisers and get them to follow that up too. I was after all only on my way to a sunday bike caining and thus only doin 40mph at that point. thank wombles the sunday ride hadnt started preperly yet, would've been much worse...
get this guys apparently they had to fish the bike out of a tree which it had gone up!!!!

does anyone know legal stu om work and accidents?, off wk at mo obviously but my contract is up soon and I suispect they wont renew mine as colleagues tell me work doesnt believe im ill enuf to be off.

well I'll stop rambling now thanks aagain, visits would be most welcome, I'm back home in worcester park, surrey as me an my girl split up yesterday. I'll keep in touch,

if anyone spks 2 del tell him sorrry ive not called him back yet
I got knocked down, but i'll get up again and you'll never ever keep me down!
