When I raced my single cyl 250, I did mallory Park, Snetterton, Cadwell, 3-sisters, Pembry, and I have done track days on my Storm at Donnington and Cadwell and race schools at Donnington, Mallory & Knockhill.

how often do I go? when I was racing it was every 2nd weekend through the season and most night in the workshop!!!, but 1 stopped 18yrs ago as it was consuming my life and I had kids and a job to focus on........... the track days and schools I do only about 1 per year to as a bit of fun...... but be warned it can be addictive, so you end up having to decide where it fits in your priorities or you will spend all your money and time on the drug, and just being on track stops being enough as you will soon want the extra buzz of racing and beating the opposition.!...........I had to move to dirt bike sport as a way to wean myself off racing. The logic being that I dont need the fastest best tuned bike when it is my fitness and skill that is the limiting factor so I was able to cut back on workshop time  then I cut back on the number of events I go to till I can now take it or leave it :D

As said by one of the other replies above, mallory is the easiest to get your head round, but they are all good fun as long as you ride like you would on the on the road and build up lap by lay .... dont get carried away to fast and to ragged, smooth is good

Hi buddy did Mallory years ago on my GPZ 900r ,fantastic track short and easy to learn, very confidence inspiring plenty of track time ,you'll get faster and faster and suprise yourself,I did when the exhaust cans decked out!I would buy an old cbr 600 put sticky rubber on and embarrass the big stuff, bloke on RGV250 had more fun than anyone dont think he shut off all day.

Mallory it is then :)

I imagine it will get addictive, thankfully I have no kids so no distractions if I do decide to take it up more often :D

What happens if you book a novice day and pay the £130 odd for it, but on the day it's raining quite heavily? I wouldn't fancy taking a bike out for the first time in the wet.

I hear these stories about people going on a track day and writing off their pride and joy, but in reality, how often do you see that? Do the people that crash tend to be pushing it beyond their limits or do you get lots of accidents with bikes touching bikes?

Some videos I have watched where the faster guys over/under take the slower guys on corners worry me a bit. I imagine that it's quite hard for the people in the slower groups to not get distracted when faster bikes are cutting them up on corners.

You like to ride quick on the road dont ya?well np oncoming traffic no junctions no cars! What's to worry about?track is way safer than the road, you do see the odd crash, someone undertook me into the hairpin then sat it up on the brakes onto grass, bye bye gsxr1100. Build up the speed and you will wonder why you didn't do it before.going to squires now meeting Phil etc for about 6.15.
