Re: Getting expensive...
A grand to paint a bike... unless there is a lot of repair work i'd want something pretty special for that amount.

They very rarely come on the market, i waited for god knows how many years before managing to snap that one up off BSM only to never make use of it and had to sell it a few months after getting it

Re: Getting expensive...
Doesn't mind:
If you have more than one at a time..
If you don't ride it in a while..
Being locked up in garage..
If your mate wants a ride..
Can have a threesome with it..
Needs pipes cleaning out less..
Doesn't take you for every penny if you decide to get rid..
Don't have to talk to it after a hard day at work..
Can get your leg over it whenever takes your mood..
Petrol is cheaper than perfume..

Re: Getting expensive...
Redthunder, aren't you listing those mods backwards? I gotta figure you want to do suspension first, everything else second. Go then show? Huge change in the personality of the bike with just a little suspension work.
Just my 2 cents.

Attention should be put on the CCT's, Shim check while you're at it
Then the Rectifier as this could pack in at any given time and leave you stranded at 3am in a sh1t hole town
Then the Brakes (New Fluids, Braided Hoses and Pads etc)
Air Filter, Engine Oil, Oil Filter, Coolant, Plugs
Carb Sync
Shock Linkage Repacking with fresh grease
Then Suspension work particularly if its got some miles on it as that rear shock is well past its best in no time at all
Double bubble Screen
Headlight Light upgrades
Throttle position Sensor
Quick throttle or Throttle Spacer Mod
Stick coils
Then all the other wonderful mods that will get you hooked like Air Box modding, Carb tinkering
Clutch and Springs
Bling rear ends like Braced Swing arms
Putting together a USD front slowly and as cheaply as you can taking your time to acquire the parts
rearsets
etc etc etc
i don't think it ever stops,
there was a lot i didn't get to finish on mine
