A Ducati is close, at least it's a twin :)

And a big bang R1 sounds a bit like a twin :)

The two bikes i would have if i had the money are the 1098 and the Big Bang R1

I wish I had pushed for more money from the bank at the time of blagging a loan from them

mate has just got one. the first owner from new never got on with it and had only put 582 on the clock - he picked it up for £7k 8O
he's been riding a zx10r ('59) for 18mth and absolutely loves it.... he was saying he's put nearly 20k on the kwak so it's time to let it go before it becomes worthless so bought the r1.

so far he fkin hates it. compared to the kwak, the throttle is like an on off switch. doesnt like it at all.
he's just had it in for its first service and said he'll try ride it a bit more, see if he can get on with it.
i wouldve thought the zx10 wouldve been more of a handfull but apparently not.

regarding the blade.... as some of you know, ive accepted a nice deal on a 2013 hrc blade against my sp2, due to be delivered on the 6th... this one has the lighter 12 spoke wheels, big piston forks, better rear shock and is rumoured to be the best blade yet.
i know i am going to miss my sp (a lot) but theres too many things to consider... i'll update when it's gone :shh:
i ended up getting more back than i paid for it put it that way, which isnt bad considering the mileage ive put on it ;)
this is the one.
Image
apart from ive ordered a rear cowl instead of the pilly seat and a tail tidy.
the standard can is staying for a while at least - i did say the next bike i get will be a quiet one.
(going deaf!)

if you are looking for something a bit different seb - have a look at the new tuono v4 aprc.
#hellovabike

mate Ben round the corner has a 1098 and has only done about 7k on it from new - i cant remember the last time i saw him on it - apart from Sean's funeral last week :(
he isnt short of a few bob and decided he wanted a panigale before ducati had even released pics of it!
the full carbon jobby - about £26k 8O
manchester ducati were selling his bike for him while the pan was on order - they ended up offering him just 7 grand for it - after they'd charged him £1600 for a service!
i honestly wouldnt advise anyone to go for the ducati if they do more than zero miles a year - or if they ever get the bike wet.
1098 is a gorgeous looking bike, but like anything else italian, it just isnt made for practical everyday riding and definately not for the uk climate.
you'd have to have a everyday hack for racking the miles on and more money than sense imo :Ball Kick:

Yeah I see what you mean about the Ducati, but truth be told, nothing I would buy is that comfortable anyway.

I am most definitely a fair weather biker. I do 35-50k miles a year in the car with work, and work 50-60 hours a week so I don't get a massive amount of time to ride. I don't enjoy riding in the rain, and I have no need to, so I dont, unless I get caught out in it. At best I will manage about 4k miles a year I think, probably much less if this rain continues.

One of the main reasons I am going to sell is something I never thought would bother me, but it's the fact that everywhere you go, there are loads of the same bikes about. Every time im out, I park up and look round and oh, look, 2 blades right next to me and another 3 behind me. I don't know if that's totally stupid or an insane reason to change.

I don't want to be totally out there and individual, but I do want something slightly more rarefied. I still don't see many big bang R1s on the road, and the initial reviews were excellent. If I went for a ducati, it would be the 1198 or possibly the 1098.

I know what you mean. That's whats stopped me buying a GSXR is the fact everyone has one. One of the problems though is when you own a car/bike you tend to notice more of the same on the road than you did before but there are still the same amount of them out there.

You should go back to the firestorm. Get a USD front end, nice rear shock, sexy paint work and some nice 6spoke wheels. That will look different, not everyone has one and lets face it, who needs 170bhp on the road anyway? 100bhp is enough and you can use the whole 100 as well. What more do you need?

Yeah they're nice, just also seem a little common now. Everywhere I go I seem to see one or two of those, a few gixxers, ninjas and a sh1t load of blades.

Plus I'm not keen on its wonky eyes.

I liked the S1000RR but lots of horror stories about the engine's letting a valve go about 10000k on the gixxer sites and BMW trying to cover up there being any issues with them
