Just think of a computer as a switchboard that communicates like Morse code, but instead of flags it uses on and off. Oh and the processor is like the postal sorting office and it sends everything out to an address on your hard drive. It has postal workers in the form of RAM working for it it, slow temporary ones in the form of VRAM (2nd class) and faster ones in the form of real RAM (1st class), they then give the post to the Cache who then gives it to the processor to sort out and send back out to the appropriate address.
