The links look fine, they stop where mine do. The only option is 90° links:
I didn't care for them on mine, hence I had some made the same, shallower angle....

They were on with the Blueflames, I had when I bought it. I never liked the acute angle though....
....and the cans hung out half a mile....
Here's how I bought it:

I think I may have the solution for your problem. Well the 2nd solution as I've already given you one...
When you here the good lady approacheth & the chivalry gene kicks in rush out as normal but don the anti leg burning kit as shown below...
That should sort it...
