I have been keeping an eye on them also as I have been checking out the Ohlins stuff recently. I think the average price is around 400-450 for the forks. Keep your eye out on the forks and from time to time there are bargains to be had.

they sell cheaper but have damage to the lower pinch bolts as the ohlins forks suffer from cracks in the ali casting when the spindle pinch bolts are over tightened .

:eek2 I wonder if Ohlins are not as good as they are made out to be then and are just bling  with Hawks recent shock breaking as well. The Ohlins internals must be a different matter.

its like most things if neglected it will fail .
id rather spend my money on 08 blade front end and wheels and i will be

ohlins suspension is good no mistaking that and looks cool to but as most of us wont hit the limit of the standard suspension(with weighted springs and within service limits) is there a real need to buy ohlins .
for half the price you can get a late blade 08-12 front end with wheels that looks good and has redial brakes too , parts are cheaper to when it comes to service time .
for me it all cames down to how much you want to spend as a early blade front end can be had for less than £200 fitted .

929/954 forks are very good once you've fitted the correct springs and oil.....
i'd love ohlins but they just cost to much. same as a nice set of forged or carbon wheels, its just to much money to spend on a 10/15 yr old bike... :(

Even a 929/954 front end will set you back £500-£600 as been collecting bits for my Fighter project.

If you worried about cost you would never build anything special though.

But you're doing your bit for the enviroment. Most of the impact of M/V's comes from the manufacturing processes to produce it in the first place. So keeping the bike and improving it using other bits from previously manufactured bikes makes perfect sense and is good value. (The Mrs is reading this over my shoulder  ) Well done to all modders, keep up the good work.

That's not much more different than the Storm. It looks like a race fairing or Mario Nava.

Everything fits... It's just a matter of how much you have to massage things to work out the kinks... I mean, I managed to mount a V12 in a mini once... It didn't quite fit at first... But after a while it fit just fine... Made for a wild ride, but other than that it was fun... :D

Yep... Because otherwise I can't justify owning it

I take your point Tweety

I just wonder if there are tail units that are less of a pain to fit

Someone must have done a conversion

I like the look of the rs125 seat unit
. Any other rear end is going to take some work to make fit .
As the storm is narrow you'd be looking at 125-400cc bike to take one from .
