Having ridden one for a while (tested when I worked for a bike mag), this bike is not the cure for backache, but will cause it (you`re sitting on your tailbone). As for outrunning an R1.... not a stitch of truth to that...... It runs well for a big cruiser but can`t hold a candle to a modern standard or sportbike.....

sadly, that particular shade of blue, yes. However, "blue-ists" rejoice as the medium metallic shade of blue used on certain 99 models has been proven, beyond a doubt, to be the quickest colour (acutally, I stumbled across an internal memo from Honda where the lawyers urged them to discontinue the colour, citing fears of litigation.... just too potent for the masses....) :biggrin

FWIW, the legs out riding position is comfortable in the showroom only... on the road, it is impractical and downright painful (I don`t refer to them as poser-cycles for nothing, that is all they are good for). While carrying out said test of Hammer S some years ago, I had to ride a Suzuki C109RT (it was a comparo test) home on a 300 km freeway ride and my lower back was quite sore for over two days afterwards (massive unsprung weight from shaft drive and rear wheel assembly; the Hammer was better in this regard, though still a torture rack to ride for any distance).......

I always liked the look of the Honda Valkyrie, dynamically better than any Harley. and i'll never forget the picture in one of the bike mags, where they managed to wheelie it......

That's the picture, I wouldn't have liked the noise it made when it landed.

I have never understood cruisers, I sat on one at a show and thought that after a while I would be slumped into a ball. Also how can you hang on at speed for any length of time?

Ah, not fast and a small tank, so you don't have to ride them for long or at speed. Whoops just answered my own question!
