Popkat, how did you rate the BMW R1200S? I keep looking at them and thinking that it might jist be the obvious sucsessor to the storm.

The R1200S is cracking bike, I only sold it to go back racing, That one was an S Sport, only 200 came in to the uk, Ohlins front and rear, wider rear wheel, mine also had ac schnitzer full exhaust, power commander and lots of quality carbon, it rode brilliant, one of the best handling road bikes I've had, kept up with a well ridden RSV4 through the twisty roads. They're pretty quick too for a boxer twin, 122hp claimed, probably 115 at wheel std, with the exhaust and fueling on mine it probably made 120 at the wheel. A nice firm front end switchable abs, an unexpected corner carver, but also good on a longer run, not easy to get luggage on but can be done, also not the best bike for pillions, my daughter complained of a hot back when cruising due to the tail pipes.. Get a good one keep it a few years and you probably wouldn't lose money, maybe even gain a bit in value.
I think i'll regret selling it in time more than I already do, it was sad to see it go but I couldn't have all that moneys worth sitting there not being used at the time.

Not a wheelie bike as it pulls to one side due to the pistons.. Also always keep the battery charged, never try and bump start it  although when you drop it trying it just scrapes the cylinder head and looks like you did it cornering

Dug up Jamie's old thread - as I'm going to try these stainless steel cable ties:
