I meant the space between the back of the connector and the fairing bracket is 30mm, so when the guy replies with how much space the connector takes up, you'll know you have an extra 30mm to play with over the oem connector.

Fabricating a nose scoop to aid cooling the led bulb wouldn't do any harm…

I got that thanks

My point was with your est of 30mm clearance and a known of 32mm for a standard H4 bulb once the supplier responds we will know for sure if it'll fit

Gotcha.

So going on Wicky's diagram, the connector is around 52mm total. So it should fit in theory.

I dont think led light is focused as well as conventional halogen bubs the reflectors are not designed for led. I would like to see it and compare with my hid projector.

Been staring at that Ebay kit and the one from Electrical connection EC - LED Headlight Bulb - H4 High/Low
for an hour now...

I "think" the ballast (driver) and the LED bulb are the same components, and all wiring is the same except the plug that pulls power from the OEM headlight socket.

I highly doubt Electrical connection is manufacturing the ballast in house, and both LOOK identical right down to the recessed area for the decal.

Same with the bulb / fan assembly

Same with the connectors for fan and bulb.

The only difference I can see is the headlight socket and EC adds a piece of cut of PVC pipe as a "spacer" to keep the OEM rubber boot from touching the fan.

Anyone notice anything else different?

So unless the CREE LEDs on the Ebay one are fakes... Id bet both suppliers are sourcing the major components from the same source.

Ebay overseas dealer,, $58 to my door
EC dealer $88 to my door.. EC states "Most of our products are hand-made in our Knoxville, Tennessee facility" My guess is that is assembled, not made..

Thoughts?

Was thinking the same.. Like say removing that all but useless center mounted light above the headlight and forming a duct from the back side to the back of the bulb area.

Certainly a lot of similarities and the same principles. The box looks different between the two. Obviously the stickers are different but if you look at the patterns (fins for want of a better word) in the the plastic. The one on eBay has a wavy pattern to it, whereas the the one over the pond is more a square waffle pattern.

Yeh Hong Kong/Asia one way or another

best I can tell they look the same?????

On the EC ballast, at the decal area (red circles), I even think I see old decal adhesive where a larger decal was removed. :eek2

Those certainly look the same and I agree with the sticker. Looks exactly like the old one has been peeled off and replaced.

Are we referring to the same eBayer here. I'm comparing the following.

Nope, different Ebay auction.. now I see why you thought it was a different ballast.

Ebay auction Im talking about
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1x-Motorcycle-B ... 25?vxp=mtr

Electrical Connection Light
http://www.electricalconnection.com/oth ... -hl-h4.htm

The two ballast pics up above I posted are directly from those two sites.

The unit in the Ebay auction you just posted is clearly a different design, manufacture, product..

Yeh they are both the same accept for the differences you mentioned above. That electricalconnection company could have at least got some stickers made the right size. What has caught my eye is the light pattern compared to the HID in the eBay ad. I like!!!
