I hAve a set of them :-) quills are great
But you haven't got the custom links. :biggrin Always have liked the cheeeky bikes..SP and Storm, both very special and tastefully done.

Lee I ended up using that style indicator and putting over the original holes. In my case they are only a couple of mm away from touching the inside of my cans. Number plate is in the way a bit witch sort of blocks them from being any use during the day.

They are not quite touching the cans in these pics but they are now as have the links and cans fitted more straight and tighter in towards the bike.

Sorry this going to be annoying but I recently bought my VTR and it has indicators built into the rear light/ brake light unit. I can't see who makes it ( told you it would be annoying), but it can be done.

See tonys post http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 30#p317880
they just object to them being integral with the rear light lens
The rear lights with built-in indicators will fail an MOT

Just ordered some flush mounts...see how they go. Anyone know or close to their bike, give me the measurement across the rear mudguard where the numberplate mounts. Want to order a replacement plate. My bike is 4 miles away

It's horses for courses.. one I rang up said he would fail it and rang another he said he'd look at it and it passed okay and has done for the last three MOT's with two different MOT stations and two different people...??

Same with pipes though isn't it.. some will pass it with loud one's and some will not.
Why ask... sometime you just go to do it and find out?

This is what you're on about :-

As mention by cybercarl, might not pass an MOT :?: it's easy enough to find out though, just go and ask the guys at the place where you take to for an MOT, I'm sure they'll let it go if you ask them first rather than just turn up with it on.

Yeah they do match, but it's a long story and a bit difficult to explain in words, but I'll try.
Basically I got a local graphics guy to make me the basic decals up ( the Honda on the lower panel and the VTR on the front nose ) out of a chrome/platinum coloured vinyl with a black shadow, then I lay them on a piece of wood side by side, then laid a piece of fine mesh over them, got a can of black spray paint, held it at an angle of about 45% and faced it upwards from bottom to top, then gave it a quick spray sideways, this was to create the graduated effect that's on the originals, it worked quite well and you would think they were Factory Honda ones :D
Anyone that knows me on the forum knows full well how fussy I am, and the lengths I will go to to get things just right, sometimes I wish I could just settle with second best, it would save me a lot of time and money  but I can't :( I'm not bothered how much work i have to put in, it's just got to be right or I just won't have it, my rule of thumb is, if it looks like it belongs there and not like it's just been stuck on there then it's right
You have to appreciate that this was done about 9 years ago, I'm sure that graphics methods have moved on since then and could easily be done without all the trouble I had to go to, in fact I spoke to the guy who did the original basic decals and he said he would be able to do them as per the original Honda ones now.

Thanks cybercarl, nice to know some people appreciate the finer details plus the time and effort put into the up keep of my bikes  sometimes less is more :D
Sadly you've upset one of the family  you forgot to mention the FireBlade
She's still looking good and runs like a quartz clock at 16 years old, with the only mod being a de-badged Bweowulf end can, a Zero Gravity screen, rear wavy disc and updated Honda indicators, apart from that she's totally standard, original screen, exhaust and indicators are in the loft just in case :D
Oh nearly forgot, the only other non standard part is the tail tidy which the previous owner had done :confused :Cry1: but I keep looking for an original undertray to replace it, I'm sure one will turn at some point in the future.
Even managed to find a matching paddock stand

Halfords sell touch up pens to match your colour code.
They'll make them up while you wait.

Or Honda main dealer at twice the price.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
