Welcome, nice bike! Mines an 03 too :thumbup: I actually quite like how 'positive' the gearbox is, haha

Recently did the stopper mod on my CCT's, it's nice and simple if you follow the guides on here.

Hi.
Have a look at the resting angle of the gearchange lever arm and the linkage rod; ideally it should be around 90 degrees.

Also have a look at the amount of slack/wear on the lever pivot; it is aluminium and wears quite rapidly.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Cheers all. Have to agree that red is my favourite although there may be some bias due to my longstanding affiliation with Aberdeen FC (someone has to)

Incindentally if anyone knows a good source (other than ebay) for a RH fairing with or without the "Firestorm" decal that would be cool too.

I'm not overly burned about it being cracked but it's a shame to ruin what is otherwise a really clean bike.

Welcome and congrats on a nice clean example storm both my storms are the same with the notchy box
1998 black vtr (mods cbr900 fork conversion, ohlins rear shock, ohlins steering damper, prolite discs brembo master cylinder, goodridge braided lines, harris rear sets, Quick shifter,Mario Fairing, etc)
