Ouch! Does it have a warranty from the dealer? It'll either need later upgraded finned R/R and battery or better still a MOSFET R/R - check the workshop section as its a common problem so you're not the first. Make sure to check it hasn't fried anything else , clocks, black boxes in the bike's tail …

I've already got an aftermarket replacement on the way, I was anticipating a failure eventually!
