Thanks but I already know the standard shock length and putting the rear height back to standard will put the geometry and weight balance over the front end correct for my weight but with the much better felling cbr shock. I gotta say for someone who is simply trying to find a cheap mod for all I would have expected someone to grab a tape.

For some one wanting to make a major change I would have expected you to measure it first...

Think most people know Jamie Daugherty already does a CBR shock for the storm... and converts them so they are the same length. I think this is the best way to do it and unless you have a good grip of bike geometry and the changes dropping the back by 40mm or so makes. I am not sure it is a good idea to take that amount of slack out with preload to set your ride height as your sag will probably be a long way out.
