Go for as big as you can afford, it will fill up. have a good floor not sterling board. Pent roofs are easier to put up. You need to be able to walk round it. Fit an alarm by simply using a micro switch (maplins) and a 12v horn and 12v battery. I had bikes in sheds for 20yrs until i got a garage.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

Here's a good series of vids on finishing off a mancave
Wilderness leisure is there such a company considering that was post produced into place over the Unit 3D sign. See him walk through it at 0:20 where he's wombles up the layering. I'm thinking acquired cheaply from wilderness leisure means he found it in a skip.

Virt if you get a big enough shed you could move into that. All you need is a bit of land. :P

The 12x6 option might be the best one for me. Ok it's 4ft shorter than I can fit but I can't find a 16x6. And for the price, can't really beat it. Will just need to insulate it and away we go  good find Virt

 Duffy you bar steward!

Got the all clear from my landlord today for building a shed if I decide to go wooden.. i think I will, get one I won't care about leaving behind in a year or two but will do the job well enough..

Probably the one i linked to for CK

Why would I want a matte black shed though? I want it to stay stationary, not travel around it at the speed of light :(

YMVirt,
With sheds you do get what you pay for to a degree, that's why there is a big difference in price. I would you get yourself along to a garden centre and take a look at the differences, that will give you a better idea of what you are buying before committing yourself.

The shed framing will be very thin on the cheaper sheds, including the floor joists and roof purlins, and as BTT mentioned sterling board is used for the floor on the less expensive ones in a lot of cases, and the roof. The less expensive sheds will be clad in Feather Edge cladding, this is not the best for keeping the rain out if it has knot holes and shakes (splits) in the boards. This Feather Edge cladding for the lower priced sheds is usually made from Spruce which is also used for wooden pallets.

F/E cladding looks like this (pic courtesy of morgansupplies.co.uk ) and the green effect means it had been tanalised, so will last longer than non-tanalised timber:-

The better range (more expensive) garden sheds will have thicker/sturdier framing and will have Tongue and Groove flooring. They will be clad in shiplap cladding, that will be 12 or 13mm thick which is a lot stronger than the Feather Edge cladding. The shiplap cladding can either be in pine, or longer lasting Cedar, Cedar wood is an oil based wood. Of course Cedar is much more expensive than Pine.

Shiplap cladding looks like this (pic courtesy of travisperkins.co.uk ):-

There are other options, but are more expensive. This should give you an idea of what is used in shed construction for what you are looking at, good luck

course if you a buy a cheaper shed you can brace it a bit with some 2 x 2 quite cheaply ?
