Jeezus,

You are a lot calmer about it than I would be.

Bloody tin tops.

Hope you are O.K and get the bike sorted out.

Is your bike insured?

Here in Oz bikes only have to fall off the stand and they are writing them off under insurance.

Oh yeh. We have no choice over here especially since the introduction of computers and cameras. My insurance is the least cover you can get. Basically it makes me legal to ride but all costs would end up being mine, especially with such a high excess.

8O I'm really sorry to hear about this Carl, you must be gutted. Glad you've not broken any bones, but no doubt you'll be sore and stiff tomorrow.
It was good Marty could help you out and that you managed to ride the bike home with the broken foot pegs, although I know that wouldn't have been easy. I read in another post you were putting an ice pack on your knee, I wondered then what the problem was.

I hope you feel better soon mate,

Chris.

Had a couple of large gin and tonics (pint glass  ) for pain killer. I could have popped some pills but that would require eating first (stomach protection) and I couldn't be bothered cooking. Limping around the kitchen having to lift and operate my fingers. Having a lazy night in front of the screens. Shall see how I feel in the morning but I want to wash the bike before working on it.

The way I see it, it's an accident/bad luck, it's part and parcel of being a biker. I've had loads of drops over the years but only a couple of hospitalisation bone breaking serious ones. Some my fault, some not. It's been quite a few years since my last drop so I guess my luck ran out today. I'm not happy, but I don't want to dwell on the negatives and get depressed about it. I over-think things sometimes and worries get me down. just want to move on, stay positive, fix the bike and get back on the road, I've got worse things I could worry about if I let them. One things for sure, it don't put me off biking. It might put me off making it look as nice though. After all it's my everyday workhorse so it's high risk.

I got lucky really from a physical point as it could have been a whole lot worse. I've walked away and I can fix the bike.

bugger mate, hope everything goes ok and your not too restricted tomorrow.

Opp north it was an icerink this morning.
Came out off a meeting this morning to find a young lass getting breathalise after taking the corner of my car off. It was parked up in the hotel car park.
Full front bumper, skirts, fog lights etc all required. not overly bothered as it belongs to work.
Poor lass also landed on her butt when she got out of her car!
Don't hassle me
I'll get there at some time

Morning, hope your feeling a bit better & not too stiff this morning.

I have just seen this on the bay eBay item number: 271700945316,

Fancy a silver upgrade? Pull the parts you need & flog the rest or a good opportunity for a track bike project?

Cheap enough & close to you I think

Woke up this morning a little stiff as suspected. Especially moving my fingers and clenching my first. Knee hasn't swollen much more and is not as bad as it could be, though walking down the stairs is a slow one step at a time job still and I'm also limping a bit. The worst thing about the stairs is that I normally predominately weight bare on the right leg because of previous injuries to me left. So having the right leg out of action is another strain. Slept with my leg elevated last night which must have helped with the swelling.

As for buying another bike, no chance. I was already brassic, even struggling for fuel and fag money, and this is just another nail in the coffin. I feel really bad about not donating to Kevs marathon but I will as soon as I get the chance. Plenty of time yet. Right now I feel like a charity case myself and I really don't like it. Oh well hard times ahead. Things where starting to look more positive with a new businesses venture in mind as well. Been concentrating on working that out to start the new year with a new life. Life's like 2 steps forward one step backwards at the moment, but as long as I can keep that one step ahead and try to stay positive and not sink into a depression I will get through it.

Thankfully I can call on a few favours to get me through so shall rebuild what I have over time as and when I can with a big thank you to the pineapple stores. What goes around comes around and I don't forget. I have a superb long term memory but bad short.

Thinking about pulling myself away from this computer and washing the bike now and seeing where things are at. Looks grim outside. :( A little exercise will do me good though. Keep the leg muscles/tendons flexing.
