Hi Lee & Welcome.....

Everyone seems a friendly bunch on here except for the
colour prejudice 8O - Yellow being better than Red etc etc

Hi folks,

Many thanks for the welcomes, seems like a very friendly place indeed.

It is a yellar one sort of, but not the usual, it has a distinctive Rossi Dream Machine paint job, I'll post pics soon.

Cheers

Lee

Hi Elbe. Hope you enjoy the VTR experience.

If you can't cure the cutting out by increasing idle speed then have a look at previous threads on this site. I recall something about a year ago where if you don't get one of the breather tubes in the right place it can lead to stalling. I'm sure others will remember this better than me!

Thats for stalling under heavy breaking. Mind you, no harm in doing that mod either.

Indeed it is. Mind you, never changed my little pipe pointing preference and haven't had a problem.

When warm, aim for an idle speed of 1200 rpm

Hi Lee,

Only new to this forum myself, seem a great bunch and very helpful. Only got my 99 Red storm in November, but it has me grinning like a cheshire cat.

One amazing bike! There's only one problem, I want to be out on it constantly! :D

I've extracted one of the photos I took of the bike with my phone before I bought it and placed it here: http://www.vtr1000.org/cpg/displayimage ... =9&pos=204

It's poor quality but gives you an idea of what it looks like

Cheers

Well, it looks okay but can't start it today just keeps turning over and draining battery, had a couple of backfires and then nothing, I suppose that's price of owning a 9yr old bike... god knows why mind, time to buy a haynes manual
