Noisy buggers!

I have Scorpions on mine too with the removable baffles which seem to stay permanently removed apart from one day of the year (hopefully  )
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

I had Scorpian std level ones on my last VTR. Very good but one was starting to have a slight internal baffle rattle. Liked the quick remove end baffles. Had two sets of these two. One pair std and another pair partially cut down so three decibel settings!!

Now have the std Honda cans fitted........... with a difference. Straight through with wadding material on the outside of the perforated tubes which are the same size as the headers!!!!!!!!

Noisy? Pardon! I can't hear what you said!!!!

I have Titanium Scorpions but they were a bad choice imo, the Titanium gives the note a tinny edge. If you prefer a thud without a raspy edge to it then Carbon cans are the material to go for although they are less robust and expensive. The Carbon as its plastic doesn't resonate like thin sheet metal.

That's interesting about the Titanium can's being a bad choice as they sound tinny:!: They're probably better when a bit of carbon has built up in them. I went for stainless steel and they don't sound tinny :!:

Carbon fibre can's are not really recommended for big V/twins as the exhaust pulse that these big piston engines create has been known to blow them apart over a period of time, but I understand what you are saying about them giving a more mellow note :!:

why don't the Ducatis have an issue, they all seem to have Carbon Termis? is it that the miles they get through each year are only about 2k?

That's a very good point that, perhaps it is something to do with the mileage or, it may be the price :!: meaning you get what you pay for :!: There's a pair of carbon Termignonis on Ebay at the moment and the starting price is £400. See link:-

Especially not if you like doing 'poppies' like my mate at work.

Got used to doing them on his VTR then on his SP1 - put some Carbon cans on and blew the sides out of them when he tried his first poppy - Doh! Forgot he'd replaced S/Steel ones with CF!

If she was American she could knit you a scarf and you could use that as an exhaust because it would be a muffler.

I'll get me coat................

Hi guys and girls,

Is there any problem with using High Level cans if I intend to carry a pillion now and again ?

Just wondering if there a risk of burn or heat to their legs.

Thanks

Mark
