I know what you chaps mean (as in seat-of-the-pants flying) but I assume you have removed the revcounters to save weight as a complete waste of time having it fitted as it's just another visual distraction. Same with the neutral light, stand down switch etc.
8O Seat-of-the-pants! 8O
How dare you say such a thing, I'll have you know there is nothing Seat-of-the-pants about my riding. Even my crashes are well thought out and executed
Rev clocks still on there but the speedo is a waste of time and could be junked
Neutral Light: Nah! I think that's worth it's weight in gold. Last thing you want to do is stop next to your mates and have the bike lurch off and stall in front of everyone

Never had a gear indicator and probably never will. People talk about not knowing what gear they are in on the storm. TBH I've found it easier to tell what gear the bike is in on my storm than any of the other bikes I've had.
If you've got a revvy 400/600 four pot then I can see the benefit of an indicator, but on a twin I can't. The storm has been one of the easiest bikes to get used too that I've had, as in it didn't take me long to realise how to ride the thing.
Horses for courses, if we were all the same it would be a boring world! But then I've never really been into "bling" on my mounts...

Well I fitted my Acumen gear indicator today and must admit it was a lot less worrying than I thought it would be 8) the job was made pretty easy by the fact the loom going onto the clocks is nice and long, all the wires were easy to get to and within about an hour the whole job was done. All loomed back up neatly you'd never had known I'd attacked it 8O . I got the white led display and must say it's pretty darn bright and still pretty visible in sunlight.

I'll let you know how I get on with it and whether I find it helpful.
