I went out on bike about an hour after having cast off (Helen doesn't know) as I keen to get out on bike again. Don't recommend it but hey ho. Consultant wasn't best pleased when I turned up on bike for a check up 6 weeks later. Still hurts when hauling bike around going quick .
Oh yeah did the same back in '86. Clean break of left forearm in plaster up past the elbow for 6 weeks. When it finally came off walked home from the hosp, got changed & back out on the bike... Very invigorating. Not an option this time unless someone wants to lend me their bike...

keep your chin up and drink some green leaf tea
These x-rays are of the elbow, same accident but didn't manage to get the pic's until yesterday, it does look worse than it feels TBH. I didn't realise the break was that bad. The wires do look a bit DIY dont they...
Noticed this morning that when i straighten the arm I can see & feel the wire under the skin...eeewwww!

Why on earth would I want to drink green tea ? Is that what frogs drink ?

Kings Collage again today, cast off to have a look at the latest wound from the wires being put in, prob some x-rays, lets hope mr wrist is behaving himself & staying put...

I'm sure I can feel the ends of the wires rubbing on the cast, something in there has been giving me jip over the last few days !

Hopefully get some nice pic's to put you lot off your tea...

Right turn away now if a bit squeamish...you have been warned...

Right follow up today on the wrist at Kings, had a chat with the consultant, blah blah blah all ok not in pain ect, go & have an X-ray come back & see me. X-rays look good, the wire is doing the job of holding wrist in place.

The long hook is the wire put in last visit.

Now go & have that cast removed to check the wound...

Ready for this...?

you sure... ?

:Beer Popcorn: See how I entertain you Guys...

I'm going back in 5 weeks time to have cast removed & the wire ''wiggled'' out...eek!
I think I'm going to video it rather than just pic's so you can hear the sound as well ...
I promise to swear as politely as poss, honest ...

After that it's over to the physio gang to get the wrist working, have been warned of poss loss of movement, which he demonstrated on the left wrist & TBH I would consider it acceptable considering the damage done...Throttle is go Chaps, fingers crossed.
The down side is the possibility of constant pain, which will only become apparent in time. If it is too bad...Op no.4 to fuse the wrist...i.e. No pain but also no movement... 8O

Enjoy the pic's & look forward to the vid coming to a screen in front of you soon...get the popcorn in... :Beer Popcorn: :Beer Popcorn:
