today I did a little bit more before the rain, fitted a matching black rear caliper from an R1, same caliper just black instead of gold. now my inner tart is happy as all my calipers match.
checked under the rubber boot on my starter and it was dry, so I added a big dollop of grease.
gave it a bit of a clean and put it away for now.

another 12o miles and got bloody soaked. So went and bought a new alpinestars Textile jacket. My 15 year old Frank Thomas has been amazing to be honest but i forgot to put the waterproof liner in! doh.

New oil and filter and re-fitted PAIRS.

A quick blast before to warm the oil, and a second one after to see if things have improved. It seems to be running smoother and sounding healthier again with PAIRS fitted so I'm happy.

Metzeler M7RR's are brilliant by the way. Confidence inspiring, get really sticky when pushing on and the profile drops you in to corners beautifully.

I found the pairs system makes my bike pop n bang like a mofo, I remember riding behind btt bike in devon, it was never ending, pop pop bang, pop bang bang pop...

I finished off the CBF getting it weatherproof for the Devon run:
fender extender
relocated sat nav to new homemade bracket, so needed to extend and relocate power supply
R&G shocktube
heated gear remote fitted
and finally fitted the sena to my lid
so all ready for Devon.

And I have just had my accommodation confirm for the TT next year.

Today I have mostly been...
Playing with various clipons and triying to find a setup that lets me raise the clipon height even a little.
Fitting LSL clipons with a KTM radial clutch MC and +40mm longer new brake lines got me a 10mm rise, and that's all, folks, even with optimised electrics position (hence the new clions, so I could drill the holes in exactly the right places to put the electrics so that I got the most possible rise.

I don't want to cut away the fairing....

Tomorrow- bleeding brakes, clutch, refitting fairing reconnecting elscrics and soldering up a patch connection cable for the KTM clutch mc to the SP2 harness.

rode it first thing on quiet roads, bliss. another 130 miles,

Back together, all set up and running, ready for Devon.
New, longer, brake lines on and bled, clutch radial MC fitted and bled, new clipons, resited the fluid pots inboard, made brackets, polished brackets, (a bit) general fafing about and tidying leccy and hydraulic routing- goodbye weekend.

All I have left to do, if I can be bothered, is to pull both wheels off and fit the captive wheel spacers, oh, and to grease the clutch lever, as I've just remembered that it was on my mental list of things to do today but I forgot.

Next weekend, a quick test ride (glued grips on tonight, so can't use the bike until they've set) and put the rack on- and that's only one bolt so not even worth putting a set of gloves on for!

Sooner or later I'll leave the bloody thing alone except for riding it....

Which reminds me, I'd better go and adjust and lube the chain on the commuter.

Rebuilt a broken lug on the back of my headlight with some fibreglass. Got the bulk of it done, now I need to rub it down and shape it, then drill a hole for the screw. Should hold the light in place so my headlight alignment is not off.
