Let's see how it looks with the fairings and decals, personally I've never liked the look of carbon effect or coloured wheels, but like you say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

you don't need to go to a main dealer to keep your warranty up, you could have come to me got it serviced, covered your fuel, taken us both out for an evening of beer and curry, covered your digs for the night and still had a bit of change.

As Malcopopkat says as long as you use a VAT registered garage and parts/oil etc that meet OEM specs your warranty stands Too few people know this

Yes I know, just glad I didn't take it to the main dealer. £96 of that was parts. Don't think I've ever spent so much on plugs before and there are four of the B-stards

How much Man that's what I would call taking advantage of pensioners. How the heck can they justify those prices and how many of those services do they require you to have to keep the warranty. You could possibly save money by abandoning the warranty, not paying out for all those services and then if anything does go wrong cough up the cash which could end up less than the cost of all those services. Talk about playing on peoples fears to make more money. Really a warranty should just be there as consumer rights and not require service at specific intervals. One would not buy a washing machine and get someone to service parts. Why can't you just do your own servicing.

True, I guess that's the chance you take. There is nothing forcing you to get the bike serviced and whether you do it yourself or not is entirely up to the owner. It's a bit like some insurances. You pay your price (or not) and take your chance. You are right, they are definitely playing on our fears.

the way I see it, is that these days manufacturers don't make that much of a profit on new vehicles, but they make it from the aftersales servicing.
as most people believe you have to go to them to keep the warranty valid.
they also make tonnes out of parts, feck me £5 for an o-ring that costs them 15p to make.
pete, just make sure the bikes up for a thousand mile thrash that it's going to get mate...
