I'm going to turn the key and start the bike today. It's been sitting outside and has not been started in weeks. So a little warm up won't do it any harm and keeps things moving and charged up.

One of those messy jobs today, new rear wheel bearings in the wee yamaha. just aswell as one of them fell out in bits

Bit of a kijack this, sorry. What bearing press do you use? I've never been overly happy with using a socket and I haven't got one big enough for the rear wheel on the VTR.

Bit of a kijack this, sorry. What bearing press do you use? I've never been overly happy with using a socket and I haven't got one big enough for the rear wheel on the VTR.

Socket for me never had an issue. Always stick them in the freezer at least 24 hrs before hand... No socket big enough, just use a flat bit of steel, or even a bit of wood, over the bearing & drive it in.

Failing that make a bearing puller, bit of streaded studing, some plates & some nuts...

Picked up a few screws in the tyres going through puddles this morning so now I'm having 4 new rubbers fitted and the tracking checked .lets see if I counted the turns right when I changed the track rod end the other month !

Apparently I did a very good job !! 1.2mm out what ever that means .
It was fun leaving the tyre shop with 4 new tyres fitted and the roads are wet ! Felt like I was driving on ice lmao

just a quick 45 mile blast today to drop a laptop off, Nov and 16 degrees, odd but not at all cold. bit slippery with the leaves but nice to get the butt end a tad squirrely, i tried to do some "Lozenzo" smooth turns in, he was amazing on Sunday and never looks in trouble. I really am impressed with the Pilot 2 tyres i have on the CBF.

Found out my 2002 bike had a 16L tank..

..ordered some roadtest back issues from eBay....organised a date to have the bike collected/delivered..

Just warmed the big girl up and put her to bed again

Not been on here for a while, but today I had a nice new shinny set of cans fitted. max torque cans, sounds awesome

Anyway. Found the breaking point of that front tire on wet sand this morning. Tire had a hard skid for a second as I rounded a rather sharp bend.
I didn't realise how high up I was here until I went to a clients house just about 100 feet higher than me and looked out her window. Ocean mountain mountain, Nothing taller in sight all the way to the border of my vision.

as mac said big scocket and a lump of wood works the very best

Ya pillock you put the bearings in the freezer...

Idea being it makes them everso slightly smaller being cold the metal contracts, thus making them easier to fit. Some say heating up the housing helps as well...
