Before I did I started her up and let her run for an hour, it then dawned on me, just standing there looking, and listening to her was enough to remind me how special this bike is, and what the hell was I thinking of, I'd be mad to even think of it.

He He He! They are rather hard to let go of. Everytime I think of selling mine a short spin out on it soon tells me I'd be stupid to let it go.

Fitted new plugs(how much?!) , air filter and subfilters...made easier by "borrowing"the neighbours young lad to connect the forward hoses to the air box lower section..Was easier to start afterwards for definite.

Next jobs to install new pads & buy/fit a new rear tyre, im sure Santa may treat me to that..

That forward hose, the one that seems impossible to get right. Disconnect it from the valve cover pull it through a bit and presto it's done. No need for child hands.

Stripped & refurbed a set of std callipers.

They were off the the recent Blonkey purchase & whilst not in a terrible state, the pin cap grub screws were super tight. So when I brought the bike home the front brakes were terible verging on non exsistant.

The first job on it was to swap the callipers for a refurbed set & blead them up. I wanted to use the pads that were in them as they had loads of meat on them...Probably due to the crapness of them!

Any hoo the pin cap screws would not shift so I split the callipers to get the pads out, sorted the swapped callipers out & left the removed ones with the caps soaking in plus gas.

Today they were still solid & at risk of chewing up so with the pistons & seal out into the sonic cleaner for a hot wash. Half way through took that side out, clamped in a vice one smack of a impact driver & the fekers came undone. The pad pin itself was also a bit on the tight side I suspect a lack of copper grease last time they were stripped.

All clean now & rebuilt...

started to collect up parts to do a USD front end conversion on the storm. I am coping Lloydie's route of using the Aprillia Touno / RSV components.
so far I have USD forks & Yokes from V4 touno, Radial Brembos, Forged front wheel.

plan is to still keep the flat bars, so hence the Touno yokes.

that should mean I have the following bits coming up for sale when I start the winter rebuild:
Top yoke converted for flat bars
std top and bottom yokes with new taper bearings fitted
Set of Rogered front forks
a coerce fork brace
F4i calipers modified to fit Storm forks
6 spoke front wheel in gloss black
Armstrong wavy disks

I will put these in the for sale section nearer the time when I have worked out a price

will put you on the list Marty, but the caveat, as with any of my winter projects, is that it may be very slow or be subject to a U-turn and not happen 8O
