Front loader (for amateurs) or the professional arm round the shoulders, oh how did that happen?

30 years too late but now I'm fully qualified in removing ladies undergarments with one hand. If only.
It's the Basic Rider Assessment course. Now needed for one to get their ACU race licence.

Thanks to the helpful posts by Wicky, today I replaced my Reg/Rec with a mosfet unit from a BMWS1000R. I have done the multimeter test, which gave the following: ignition off 13.28V; ignition on and lights on ~12.5V, dropping slowly; engine running and lights on, revs 2000-5000 was 14.4-14.5V. According to the helpful guide on here, that all looks fine.

One thing I am slightly concerned about is that the new R/R clicks when I press the starter button, and also when I release it. It does this even if I press it when the engine is running. Is this normal? I know naff all about electrical gubbins, and was only able to do this mod thanks to the posts on here. Standing on the shoulders of giants and all that ...

It can't be the reg rec, it must be the relay you can hear.

You are correct, and I was wrong. It's the relay. Doh! I guess that means I've made a successful upgrade!

Got the new (to me) Ohlins shock and revalved RSV4 forks back from Revs suspension today, so got them all fitted again and set the static sag.

Got to put fairing and one pipe back on and then it is ready for a test ride to find the baseline settings for the damping. Will try and get round to Revs so they can do a set up before setting off to NI trip

all back together and running nicely. only done a late night 10 mile loop to get petrol and make sure nothing is loose, but feels very plush now . will try and get out of work early to go to Revs for a set up.

oh and the new clutch and springs has stopped the clutch slip, but it still grabs like a basted at 4000 revs,
