Rode mine, with the new pegs, yesterday.
About 160 miles in a lope through Hay on Wye. Pegs and knees are great but some further issue have cropped up. Mostly I think because of the different weight distribution.
So a bit more fiddling coming up.

Will be interested to read how you work through that. Pull the forks through the yokes a few mm?

That's my thoughts, but first I need to re route the brake lines. I also hit a really big pot hole, it didn't feel quite right afterwards

Nice work. Did cast feel any different from other ally?
[/quote]

Not particularly. Luckily it was very clean at the break so I just cleaned back the surface about 10mm with a clean file and V'd the joint out. What I learned from a particular video was that by holding the molton pool allows the shite in the alloy to lift out which improves things. The material used on this old yoke seemed particularly good which probably made things a lot easier 🙂

Of course, there's some really crap cast material out there which must be really difficult to work with.

I must point out that I'm no pro' welder and still learning slowly.

It certainly looks pro Pentode

I've never tried Tig welding cast aluminium but there was nothing to lose really. Bit of Googling and careful setting up seemed to do the trick 👍 Dressed the weld back and bead blasted it to blend various nicks and scratches away. The pen shows where it had broken away.

I agree with the other's comments, nice looking job

So I gets ready for work this morning... Just helmet & gloves to go...Unlocked the cave & pulled Custurd out...

Didn't feel right just pulling it along...Sure enough rear is flat as a flat thing... Grrrr...

Bearing in mind it's already 20* or so even tho it's not even 7o/c...

So back inside take off me jacket... bike up on a padock stand...

Found this...

Nerg 1.jpg

Nerg 2.jpg

So gave the guv a quick text to say I might be a tad late...

Then set to moving bikes to get compresor & lines & tyre gauge do dah out.

Got me punture plug kit out & set to on making a repair...

Didn't take too long but Bajebuss I was sweating away like a good 'un.

Anyhoo once done I get me kit back on & ride off...All good on the way in & tyre felt OK when I parked up.

After another sweaty day at work, when I went back to the bike to ride home I kicked the tyre again & all seemed good, still nice & firm.

Last few miles through several rounabouts I'm thinking this feels a bit loose at the rear so when I got home, after getting changed I went out to check the tyre...20lbs...So I fired up the compresor again started putting air in it & sure enough you can hear it leaking out... Damm

So back on the padockstand out with the puncture kit & do it again. I was using these plug strips that the tyre guy at work gave me so they should be OK. Second go used a new plug...Pumped the tyre back up bloody things still leaking... Plan C I used a plug strip out of the kit I had...This seems to be holding..I will check it in the morning before leaving for work then Instigate Plan D...

Go to the bike shop after work tomorow & get the feker plugged with a mushroom.
