Oh Oh!
That doesn't bode well for us mere mortals trying to keep up on the next storm meet
Dare I ask how you checked the ABS function? Was it a stoppie around a blind bend with the back wheel six inches off the ground?

Split, stripped and cleaned the Mori carbs. I need to replace some o-rings and the diaphragm covers and slides are a bit worn so I'm considering replacing those too. Otherwise they look in pretty good nick. The needles have no visible wear thankfully.

ohhhh Mori Carbs ... you are addicted Nick

PeteL,
not that brave! still learning to Trust ABS on a bike, so was low speed going straight over some gravel (with legs out as emergency outriggers) , but it is good for training you how much more front brake you can pull.

Dont you love electrics !!!!!
The other week i stupidly left my oxford battery conditioner attached when i started the boke and it seemed to be reading 18v when running on the conditioner. I did some checking with my meter and somewhere along there i reckon i screwed the meter which also seemed to be reading 18v when running.
So i have just fitted the mosfet reg/reg and was getting just above 12v when running - but using my new meter - the old one says 18v, but negative!!!!
So trusting the new meter, i went through the diagnostic tests and everything tested out but the voltage when running!!!!!!
I then remembered i had previously run direct red and green from the reg/rec to the battery, and bugger me the in line mini fuse had blown!!!!!
Comedy of errors - i suspect the finned reg/rec was actually ok, but at least i have done the mod.
Running voltage at battery is now within spec.
So ill put it all back together tomorrow .
Every day is a learning day

So today Custurd got it's new Chain & Sprockets, It's done 20k on the one on it & It's hanging... Sprocket's have worn to nice slighty hooked pointy teeth... It's had regular cleaning & lubing but I'm probaly guilty of over tighting it when adjusting...

So is 20k a resonable life span ? DID chain & JT sprocket.

OH & after cleaning about a lb of black gooey shite from the sprocket cover & cleaning the inside of the swinger, I decided to change the shock linkage as it was all in bits.

The best bit about regular changing the linkage is it all comes apart soooo much easier than one that aint seen a spanner in 10 years...

Have you got a Scot oiler on it?
If not, that's pretty good milage.

Not on this one Tony.

As said every week it got a clean & lube & adjustment if needed.

I had made a note when it was last changed & that was 60k something & its on 80k ish now...
