Have you sent your V5 off to be updated yet mate? You might get an unnecessary pull if a copper checks and sees the colour don't match the database.

yep i sent it last month
but the £45 to change it on the insurance was a wonker

i've got to send a v5 off to the dvla, there will be change of address, change of colour and change of engine number, after looking at the dvla website, it states i have to send them evidence for the engine change....
what a load of bolloxs
does anyone know the costs involved in changing these details on the logbook? or is it gratis....

How are you supposed to do that then I suppose you cold just take a picture of the engine number or do you need a garage receipt of fitting

dvla wont charge you i think .
but getting a engineer report for the engine swap might , you will have to take it to a main bike shop so they can check it over ,
you also might need the reg number of the bike that it came from .
the system change a few years ago and its a right pain now .
be best to contact dvla the get the correct info that they will need a want from you .

it won't be a problem, i have a friendly bike shop over the road who will knock up a letter stating they changed the engine for me, i also have the reg of the previous bike because it was mine, i just think its silly, surely if i give them an engine number and it turned out to be stolen, they could tell via there datdbase, so why should i have to explain my reasons to them....

because they are fiddler
when i had my cbr400/600 on the v5 it said multi coloured and it had no engine number
so when i painted it black and silver and put a bigger engine in they didnt need to know

Lloydie, saw this in St Evenage today -



Spoke to the rider, he just bought it as a winter hack. Still on the original CCT's!!!! The previous owner did the paint, and made a good job of it, although I only had a cursory look.
Pointed the guy toward here for advice and to lay claim to the original Kermit machine.

no kermits is a pearl green and the one kev posted is Kawasaki green

I wasn't sure as I did wonder if it was a trick of the light on Kermit's bike, now obviously not.

Any joy on the engine hunting side of things? I saw there was a 25,000 miler on the Bay recently. Went usold for £249.
