What annoyed me today wasn't the fact I was asked to work Sunday instead of Saturday, nor the fact that I had to re arrange all my Sunday plans to Saturday, certainly not that its all at double time but the fact I have to do an 11 hour shift on a Sunday! I'm no religious person but I do like my day of rest.

Yes, long gone are the days of Sundays being a day off. And most shops used to be only open for half days on Saturdays. They expect people to their ball off for more than an 8 hour day and for 6-7 days a week these days for crap money and have no rest days or family time No wonder the country is going downhill.

that's true Carl. It was mentioned somewhere in some dubious study no doubt, that the 70's were when people were happiest. Odd, that the country was heading to the dogs economicaly, yet people still lived in communities where a lot of people knew each other, families lived closer together, there was a sense of structure to a week, Sundays were days of rest, not frigging shopping, people didn't constantly want more of everything, and a lot of all generations knew the value of a lot of things and the price of wombles all, aside from oil.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been on the phone for hours trying to get this car moved from outside my nans backdoor, 5 different council departments, I visit to the estate office, and a call to the police, all I've found out is because its on an estate//private rd, it can't be moved, the law changed last year, the police have told me the car is not registered locally, so theres no real point on knocking door to door, I've filled in an ambandoned vehicle report with the council, even tho I don't think the cars abandoned.
I even tried to pull the car out of the way with my cab, but because the front left wheel of the car is turned outwards towards a small kerb of the entrance to my neighbours backdoor. the car only wants to head towards his rear wall.
I can't ferking ride the bike until the car gets moved.
any constructive idea's, if I had a trolley jack I could pull the front of the car around and then drag it clear. but I have no way of getting hold of a trolley jack, and I ain't going to buy one.....

on the plus side, I had a word with my pot smoking neighbour, he's now got the message.....

It's blocking emergency access. What if there is a fire at the front of the house. How is you nan going to get out. Smash the window, handbrake off, and tow the wombles with your cab.

how about 2 car jacks that come with a car for changing a spare wheel? Jack it up one each side and turn the wheels straight by hand?

Why not have the mook that put it in front of the door in the first place bang into it from the other end... Seeing as his car is already banged up, it won't matter much...

No, seriously, a 2x4 of sufficient length is all that's needed to move it sideways... stick under, and lift... Then tow it with the cab...
