Picked up a massive puncture half way there on M6. Put 3 plugs in it to fix it. Carried on riding and 2 junctions later, the throttle cable snapped!! wtf
Quite a stressful morning. Wasn't meant to be I guess. Turned the tickover right up and managed to limp home at 40mph.
Pleased you guys all enjoyed yourselves
Steve, how the feck do you snap a throttle cable? ........... I guess its the size of your huge massive hands and the fact that you had the throttle wound to the stop for most of the welsh trip............ you know it wont go any faster once its hit the limit stop, there is no need to keep twisting the grip
shame you didn't make it as I think you would have gone well there.
I am going to see what the weather forecast is like for the 8th November one that lloydie and CK are going to, and if it looks dry I will do a last min entry into the Inters group
I think it might be something to do with how I'm running the twist grip upside down, to give clearance for the cbr900 forks/clipons. It sort of runs at a peculiar angle now, so might be putting the cable under stress??? Also, I'm pretty heavy handed with things!
If the weather is decent'ish I'll give it another go on the 8th. Might have to be cheeky and ask to stay on somebody's floor this time though.
its only when I look at the team photo I spotted how few Storms were there.......... I hadn't noticed [more old age!]
out of 7 people off the forum who went, there was only 3 storms..Gaz was hiding in his garage ..... if big Steve had made it we would have been at 50%.
not bad going for a 1 make of bike Forum ....... it shows that lots of people stay after they sell the bike, and some people join and still don't have a Storm

you would both be fine in inters, it would take away a few of the unpredictable mobile chicanes, but you might get a few more people overtaking you....... which is bad for the ego and that might make you push too hard, but its down to riding your own pace and letting the speed come to you.
