Scotty - You've stated you refuse to use the Haynes manual and the online service manual before you tear into the bike and rely on us telling you how to do things that are clearly explained with diagrams etc, in the manuals, now you deride anyone who suggests how you could try and improve your way of doing things. All a bit like biting the hand that's feeding you...
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Be nice to him Wicky, Scotty doesn't respond well to criticism! Do you remember the drink drive reaction?

Your quite right Mr Hatchi, it is my choice.

Oh & I can read it OK, it just, a/doesn't make much sense. b/makes you sound like a spotty 13 year old.

BTW its incapability not incapabilty but if were being really picky & grammatically correct it should be 'inability'

So from this moment in the great time & space conundrum I shall apply my inbuilt ''crappostautoedit facility'' & indeed not read your drivel again, thus saving what few remaining functioning brain cells for much greater things.

One last point to make...

Next time your up for an upgrade click on 'Sense of Humour 101' & down load it straight away.

Goodbye & good luck with sorting your overheating problem out.

It's normally me that folks make comments about ''the medication'' needing topping up.

Keep up the good work Kev.

I think Scotty maybe venting his frustrations and anger a little bit. If I get frustrated and start swearing and whatever when doing anything mechanical it just gets in the way. I find I have to take a step back, have fag and a cup of coffee and then go back to it and all of a sudden what ever I was attempting works.

I think for someone who is not that mechanically minded to have a go at doing things like this deserves a little help and a push in the right direction, but having manuals and attempting/trying to work things things out yourself first is a must or you don't learn. Then when your really stuck and banging your head against the wall it's time to give in and ask for help.

I would like some feedback on previous questions asked. Did you see oil patches on the floor or was this indeed just antifreeze you slipped on. Did you get the cooling system hoses all routed correctly when rebuilding the bike. Progress report please. Hoses routed correctly, check. Cooling system flushed with no blockages, check. Hoses all tight and secure, check, Cooling system filled and brought up to temp and flowing nicely, check.

Beem back down Scotty, help us help you.

did i read a few weeks back that this bike froze solid???

at the risk of sounding stupid...if this run was the first since it froze could there have been damage that only reared it head when it got warm..

tell me i'm stupid but it's just a thought....

froze solid was not the word used but "I forgot to put antifreeze in" was. :eek2 So who knows what's going on as we not getting any updates now. It's not even been determined, well not confirmed, whether there is any oil leaks or if it is just water. Don't know if this is the first run or what. The fan not working suggests there's not enough water in the cooling system either from not filling up properly or from leakage.

At a guess I rekon there is a hose not done up tight from when the bike got rebuilt or from where he has drained it. Or possibly there is an oil leak from lack of a new copper washer on the sump plug or something. He's then filled up the cooling system in the rad to what he thought was full, put the cap back on, topped up the expansion bottle and then started the bike and warmed it up.
