I did indeed and performance wise they worked great, though a little flat along with the intake roar being increased. Interestingly not so much difference in seat of the pants power over the two longer OM stacks I was running previously, but fuelling had improved greatly after tweaking my jetting to suit. IIRC I ended up going smaller mains and leaning off my fuel mixture screws.
I kept an eye on them for a couple of weeks and I started to have issues with the Aluminium paint melting

so removed them. I kept finding splutters (spitting), bits inside the airbox and around the air bleeds. I figure they need some kind of plastic coating or even a sheet of real carbon fibre weave on the outside. Their tucked away in a cupboard as I now have the real McCoy.
Proving to myself I could make them, though it took some time, was a sense of achievement. I also got to use fibreglass sheeting for the first time

horrible stuff to work with. P40 (which I know well) is so much easier to work with and it smells just as good

but if I require the use of fibreglass sheet in the future I now have an idea how to work with it. I used a fair bit of fibreglass and filler and there was many hours of rubbing down. A lot of the finer detailed curves especially around the doughnut ring had to be built up and rubbed down by eye and feel using a genuine Dr Honda as a visual comparison.
