as some of you have found out - mce's bargain recovery isnt worth a fiddler.
it only covers you for 10 miles and doesnt cover you if you crash.
i reccomend you get the full aa package from autonet instead for £39.
helmet and leathers cover - good luck with that one.
it says £700 but read the small print. youre only actually covered for a maximum of £300 and theres a 100 excess.
have a look what you can buy for £200 - that just about covers my gloves, and maybe a pinlock
courtesy bike - isnt a courtesy bike at all, its a credit hire bike. with a £600 excess, usually a cbf600.
they offered me one and i said no ta, i'll use the bus, its faster.
add the fact that a 3rd party claim will most probably refuse to pay for credit hire, which btw amounts to £78 a day for the cbf.
so all those extras are not as golden as they may seem!
add to that their appointed solicitors are totally shite and cherry pick the most juicy claims and poo poo the others (yours) and their repair centre is staffed by monkeys.
(though you do get a new bike out of it if you kick up enough of a fuss!)
i thought i was doing myself a favour going with mce as theyre a bigger company. how wrong i was.
dont get me wrong, the actual admin side and claim assist id bob on, very efficient, but it all goes downhiill from there.
hopefully you never get to find out
