Kev, when we did the original collection I just used my own personal paypal account.

I just made sure everyone sent their payment as a gift therefore no fees were involved.

We managed to collect over a grand and I sent that amount to another member who then transferred the cash back to his bank account and turned it back to cash again no fees were involved.

I would offer to do it again but I'm afraid I'm snowed under with work and various other things at the moment and wouldn't be able to spare the time to organise it again.

If there is any advice needed though I'd be happy to advise.

Feel free to PM me.

Jazz

Why don't we just post a fiver each (or whatever you want to) to Benny's wife with a Christmas card?
Seems easier....

That would remove all charges but is also very naughty! What's the consensus?

What's naughty sending cash through the post or doing a huge multinational company out of a few charges that they probably don't pay tax on anyway...allegadly, so I heard.

Why not PM Dianne, Benny's Sister & ask for her opinion on best way forward ?

To suddenly get a pile of cards with a fiver in sounds great, oh and count me in any way.

Paypal take fees off both ends, I.E. on donation and once the transfer of the overall sum is completed, not ideal really as I am sure everyone would prefer to have their cash go to the family. Can anyone think of a better alternative? Would setting up a Virgin giving account for this work? Would someone living nearby to Benny's take on the collection and save posting the items/cash/vouchers to them?
Just trying to work the logistics out so that EBay/Paypal go without their share.
I'm near to Warrington, would be happy to deliver the proceeds. However, I really like the idea of the family receiving loads of Xmas cards with cash - ideally all delivered on the same day if possible.

Why don't we post all cards to you in Warrington with VTR written on bottom of envelope so you know what it is then you go round and pop them all through the door same day?

Okay, PM for address or I can let the mods have it. I won't open the cards, just collect them together and once we're sorted I'll contact Diane for their address and make sure someone will be in when I call.
