Mods are for losers... keep it stock I say :biggrin

BTW, as Tony stated, SP wheels will fit, and they also use the same bolt pattern on the rotors, so you can mount up a set of those monstrous 330mm discs and ready yourself for full flight.......

And no Swedes either... :shh:

But I can if you lot like supply a list of wheels that are lighter, and more bling that six spokes that fit with a minimum of mods to the bike, once you have fitted the proper adapters, such as an SP2 swing and CBR 1000RR fork... At the moment I think I'm running 18 spokes? Dunno for sure, as the wombles are forked, so it's a matter of how you count and where...

yes but be warned.... the SP wheels are becoming unobtanium and worth their weight in gold. thats my only regret about doing the RC51 fork swap, the parts are costly$$$$$$

the forks came with the lighter 5 spoke SP2 wheel which along with a VTR wheel are now my dedicated track wheels. i recently bought a 900RR rear wheel and an SP1 wheel for the street. took me a week to find an SP1 wheel, and a second mortgage to actually own it :? i try to find a CBR wheel or something that fits up. an SP front will cost you north of $400 (US currency) the rear SP wheels go for about half that.

does anyone know which is lighter... a 900RR rear or a stock VTR rear? if i had to guess.... id bet an RR is lighter

I recall someone weighing them on the Superhawkforum a while back and think they are almost the same, the VTR wheel being very slightly lighter....

You all realize that CBR 1000RR/600RR wheel are significantly lighter, and bolts right up to the VTR/SP parts, right? Plus, since those bikes are more current, plenty of bling-bling swaps going on, so they are rather cheap...

Straight bolt on are the CBR 929RR/954RR/600RR, just swap the brake discs for your preference or add/subtract spacers to the radial calipers as needed...

SP1/SP2 wheels needs swapped bearings to the correct diameter, but no machining needed what-so-ever, just use the CBR spacers and it's done... The brake discs match, again just fiddle with the caliper spacers...

VTR wheels, same as SP's, swap the bearings and spacers, and run the calipers without spacers... (Yes, this means that anything you can bolt to the stock fork will also work with a little fiddling)

GSX-R 1000/750/600, cant say the exact years of the top of my head, but the years using Showa forks, which are very similar to 929/954 forks, are also bolt on, just bearings and spacers... Brake discs match, as above...

Triumph 675, and a whole slew of others, are known to work with custom spacers, and swapped bearings...

All aftermarket stuff for the above... And a few more...

I'm surprised know one has gone the full hog and got Carbon Dymags. Ay Micky.... Carbon, Carbon, Carbon. Or maybe a mix of Carbon and Magnesium.

I did see a pair of 17' ones on the bay once and so regret not getting them now as they went for a reasonable price. IIRC the outer rim was Magnesium and the spokes where Carbon.

I've just had a quick look on ebay. All the fronts seem to be 16.5" rims :( maybe one day
