+1 for stomp grips, surprising how something that minor can help you so much, £40 well spent imho.....

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: The Tuono lives on....
Looking at them now, they may well be fitted for the track day
Just been out to the speedy Italian chick and found out what was causing the vibrations when braking, tight bobbins. I wouldn't go as far as to say seized but certainly tight. Been round all of them with brake cleaner, ratchet and a 8mm and got them all nice and free again
so hopefully she will be ok now. Won't get to test ride till the weekend assuming the weather is nice but hopefully that was my only issue. As for looking at what springs are in the forks. That may need to wait a little while longer as I need to get it on the abba stand and firgure out a way to get the front end off the floor
can't use a jack on the sump as there isn't one to speak of and the headers are in the way. Havnt got any anchor points at the mo so strap the back wheel to the floor so any ideas? needs a lot of weight on the back to get the front up

I did the bobbins last summer. I guess it's an annual job!!Ckennedy wrote:Looking at them now, they may well be fitted for the track day

That's what you had used on yours then. Me and Lloyd were trying to figure out what was missing that you had. Do you just strap the back wheel to that arm?
Just had a look at the price, £55 quid including the adapter for the tuono
Might be a proper winter project when I have something sorted garage wise ( hopefully)

Thanks for the offer Kev. I am in no rush. Was just something I was thinking of doing sooner rather than later but I could do with having my own anyway. I have look on the bay and the cheapest I can find is 50quid, but then I spotted this an I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got one of these, it took me awhile to get used to it, but now I am, it's a fantastic bit of kit, well worth the money...Kev L wrote:You can borrow my front lift kit for the Abba stand if it helps.

Looks very nice geo. About as good as they get. But now power and less protection from the wind, that doesn't make much sence concidering how hard it is to hang on to mine at speed

Window shopping at the moment! Probably nothing more until spring. (fingers crossed)AMCQ46 wrote:And? Is this window shopping or the real thing?

That's my biggest downside

Re: The Tuono lives on....
Haha very funny Al!

Well today has been very busy.
With the up coming track days I thought I would have a go at turning my bars upseide down and back to front to see if I could get them lower so I could rest my elbow on the tank. Unfortunately this didn't work so I started putting it back together and then thought I would phone aprilia proformance in Tamworth (they set up the rsvr forum and very top blokes) about the issues with my tyres not warming. He gave me a few tweeks to make to the front end which included raising the front slightly and setting the suspension slightly harder. As well as setting compression and rebound. Then I found I could rest my arm and elbow on the tank and I stared to get rather excited
this is when I got my tinkering head on.....
I remember I had some throttle body rubbers to fit as the original ones were splitting so I lifted the tank for the first time, removed the airbox and carbs and replace the rubbers. Then I thought about removing the throttle return cable, so I did. I then built up under the tank and went to start rebuilding the bars when I had another thought........
Quick action throttle, so I made one using the standard throttle tube, cable ties and super glue, and it works a treat. Cut down the travel to fully open throttle by at least 30% if not more.
Then I tried hanging off the bike as if I was getting my knee down, elbow and shoulders well if the bike and then found the mirrors were in the way that's all I could see, not any use when trying to go round corners so guess what...... There gone now too.
Oh and I managed to figure out a way of getting the bike up using the abba without any assistance.
Overall a rather suscessful day I think
