just back from my ride in ride out saturday with the camping & sheep shagging crew, top roads and thanks to MJONSEY for leading.

what with it being the end of the world day, that did mean that there was some rain, but I think that was as a result of Tony.mon arguing with some old busybody woman in New Quay, when she wouldnt let bikes park on her carpark. Up till then it was a lovely sunny day, but after than just went down hill...........clearly she was a witch.

with the rain we cut short the 200mile loop and probably only did 150, but the boys with no waterproofs and dark visiors were looking particularly wet when I cut loose at Devils Bridge to hammer back to birmingham.........lucky I covered all options with full waterproofs and clear vision in the tankbag, as I wouldnt have fancied the extra 100 miles soaking wet.

there was 10 of us there, 9 Storms and Geo on BMW..........it did sound like the end of the world as we thundered through some of those little wet towns, and far to many people with the GoPro fitted, so we can expect 28hrs of footage

bit of a downer after I got home as I got a text from Benny to say that after I left one of the lads had an off, and it sounds like he bust his wrist  , dont know much more than that, but it sould like the boys are getting him sorted. expect there will be some updates later.

just back from delivering playerone and his bike back to bristol, unfortunately he broke his wrist when he come off, i'm sure he will explain more when he gets on here, on a plus note the bike bike escaped with very little damage.

other than that it was a cracking day

this was the route we took http://goo.gl/maps/n8Sp, we cut out a big chunk because the weather was just crap but on the other hand by diverting up to devils bridge for a cuppa we ended up going back to the site via the elan valley road, which is 20 miles of mostly single track lanes with sheep and cows wondering about on the road with bends that appear from nowhere and a cattle grid mid bend that i think caught everybody out, not your typical bikers dream road but with a howling wind and rain the a44 would have been no fun at all where as on the elan valley road it was a challenge to get much speed up and i think it had at least a grin out of most at some point across it and geodudes bike looked right at home there.

funniest moment of the day had to be tony.mon arguing with the grumpy old cow in newquay who didnt want to take our money off us for parking.

my biggest amazement of the day has to be cheekyads what a cracking young lad soaked to the skin and not one moan

lastly a massive thanks to geodude for organizing and to everyone for letting me lead you round and for having patience with my fairly sedate pace, it was great to meet you all and im working next years route out already :D

Top man MJJonesy. Thanks for sorting playerone out. And thanks for a good route despite the rain. You're right. Plenty of grins. :)

yep belting weekend apart from the drizzle yesterday, though we did get a fir few hours of good dry roads in the morning - chhers to the lads for setting a good pace and respecting village speed limits.

cracking roads on the saturday morning and the sound of all those firestorms together was awesome

the usual method of lead man, 2nd point and tailgunner worked well until the last leg, which was a 10 mile road to the next deviation of direction....
the method is, lead man leads, obviously and carries on regardless.
2nd man waits at any turn until the last man passes, then rejoins the pack.
last man always stays last.

tony as 2nd man did his job and waited at the turn then realised something was wrong as the last man was nowhere to be seen.
by the time he got back to him, he'd already been taken to hospital by a passer by with a suspected broken wrist and a limp.
we attempted to recover his bike but he had taken his HISS keys.
many fonecalls later we found out he was ok but obviously in some discomfort.
won't post up details as we simply dont know what happened - the only person who does is the guy who had the off.
gws mate - very demanding (and very wet) road that is and i think we were all a bit tired
my concern was with all the sheep at the side of the road and a pack of storms on over-run, i was expecting them to get spooked and run out in the road, which is what we thought may have happened to the unfortunate one.
i'm sure he will post himself when the time is right.

respect to jonesey for his efforts in recovering the bike & being the taximan - nice one mate, hope we never get to do the same for you but we'd have been fkt without your help bud

apart from all that, which was just pure bad luck & couldve happened to any of us, the weekend was a great fun with great bunch as usual.
nice to see dave silver zipper made a guest appearance last night in the 4 wheeler.
thanks to cheeky sue for ferrying my gear there and back so i could ride unladen, and for feeding me!
we won't mention the surprise you had for me will we....
thanks to ian marlbroman for sorting me a sub otherwise i wouldve had to go home on the saturday!

on the way down i had a belting ride with kev & ian plus a brilliant 15 mile chase with some k11 / 1200 beemers down the 483 (awesome road) but unfortunately when i pulled in for fuel i realised i hadnt pressed start on my camera so missed the footage!
was very good fun anyway!!! :biggrin

the ride home was top as well, dry roads all the way but the minute i put my key in the door at home the rain started - great timing or what!

regarding the cameras.... what we've done is give geo the footage (apart from the return leg) so rather than have a load of the same footage from different viewpoints, geo is going to edit it all with highlights for your viewing pleasure!

very much looking forward to hearing the other's reviews and seeing the vids...... and of course to the next scheduled meet which will be at dave silver zipper's pub at swanwick in derbyshire at the butt end of june - try & get there if you can as the roads are superb & hear he does a mean steak.
i can personally vouch for the quality of the beer!

brilliant weekender - heres to many more, and again thx to those who came :)
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

What a good weekend, a great crowd, lots of respect for all coping with the weather on and off the bikes.

Shame it was too wet for the campsite drag race; the white van still holds the record for this year (42 seconds)

My funniest moment- listening to the tumble drier take the strain of two jackets, two leather trousers, inc sliders, loads of gloves, tee shirts, a fleece, and a few odds and sods. Glad it wasn't mine!

Shame about the off, glad he's ok, though. Bike bounced better than rider...

Which leads me to the theme tune for the weekend:
"Rhayader on a Storm", by the out Doors.

Ta for carb tool, Benny, Ta to Bazza for Satting and Navving, ta for free food and fetching my slab of lager from the shops, and everyone for just being there.
Special mention for Mjonesy and AmcQ for routing and arranging.

And no-one suffered a CCT failure....

Game on at Silver Zipper's pub in four and a bit weeks......
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

mjonesy, you are a super star. Without your help, stress levels could have been a whole lot worse for playerone. Nice one. You must have done some miles mate.

I echo what everyone else has said really. It was a cracking few days. The highlight for me was the Elan valley. Pissing down with rain, sliding across cattle grids, standing up taking in the view. My bike was right at home. Loved it. Got back to the camp and wanted to do it again!

I need to get some enduro and/or supermoto boots though. Normal boots suck for standing up and I have worn the edges off sliding around round-a-bouts.

I'll tell you one thing though, It was bloody difficult to keep up with the clatter of storms, but I had fun trying. whitedoggy ya git, you had me on those hills  . lol Round the tight twisties it was fine, it was when those bends opened up, didn't stand a chance.

I am glad the marker system worked, if we hadn't used it, we could still all be riding around Wales looking for playerone

Big thanks to Kev for offering to back mark so I could go play. Much appreciated :)

Big thanks to sue for the tea and sausages in a roll and ads for being such a great kid.

As mentioned, I have loadsa footage. It'll take me some time to go through it and try and link three different sets of footage together. I'll have fun though :)

Big thanks to my wife who did everything this weekend and the kids for being so well behaved :)

Cant think of anything else to say at the mo.

Thanks again everyone.

Those photo's need to be censored!!! They are some of the most disturbing images I have ever set eyes on. The Easter bunny was never meant to walk around with a packet of tabs and a beer on. And there were vulnerable children present. I am in two minds whether to contact the social services!!!!
Glad you all (!) had a good time. Well done chaps & chappeses and jnr chaps.

eh, tony, give playerone your number plate mate.

**** DNF :P

Just spoke to him. He will be posting up soon although if he is right handed, it might take a while.

He has a surprise for us too if he can work out how to do it.
