It's looking that way .
I think mine will last a few years yet and still has good feel and power .

tbh mine should last a while yet, i just still need to get the fuelling sorted out..... :(

been a busy boy today, i took all the fairings off and fitted a new headlight surround that i covered in real carbon fibre, its far from perfect but for a first attempt it ain't bad, what a pain in the butt real carbon fibre is :wtf:
still it don't look to bad, i filled in the sidelight area and now i just have to get some mirror glass cut and i can fit my spare original mirrors with intergrated led running lights.... 8)
i also refitted my carbon fibre front mudguard and fender extender after giving them a good clean and polish up.
unfortunately my digital camera is broken so i don't have any pics of the bike at the mo, i've taken some pics with an old nokia phone, i might see if i can post them instead.....

Made a start with the rubbing compound on my fazer panels today. I've been using Menzerna Power Gloss http://www.menzernausa.com/ which is the harshest cutting compound. My tank is starting to look like a professional paint job I can't believe how well it's buffing up. I started by hand but it was too hard going so got the drill out. it's looking as smooth as glass but there are loads of swirls from the compound and buffing pad. I have 3 other grades to go through so by the time I'm on the finest compound it will be perfect. :thumbup:

Are these ok ?
I know in the manual it states 164psi
And mine are little lower but are they in need of work ?

Manual says it should be done at 350rpm so did you turn the idle speed down for the test. I don't know what the service limit is for it or how much is low where it's a problem. But the gauge is indicating (as it's in the green area) that it's OK, so I would have thought that 150 it not bad bad but is a little low for my liking and if it was me I would investigate further.

The problem is a compression test is not gonna tell you where the wear is, either in the block or top end in the head. The only way to know if it's pistons is to check the tolerances. But if it was pistons I would have thought that one cylinder would be worse than the other.

I didnt know that 165psi was in the book, but mine were 10.5 and 10.75bar, so nearly same as yours. ........... be interesting to see what others have had to work out if we are both low!

I did the test with both spark plugs removed and fully open throttle .

yes same here.

they suggest that if you put a bit of oild down the plug and retest, any improvement will tell you how much is escaping via the piston rings

164 psi at at 350 rpm. It's in the specifications under the chapter 8 Cylinder head/valves :thumbup:

Reading further down it sound like you have done the test correctly so the 350 rpm must be reached with a wide open throttle with both plugs removed.

Oiled the chain, checked the oil, started it up first time for 2 months, took a bit of poking to get it to fire up on both, left it ticking over for half out and then decided oh baldrocks bad back or not I needed out the house, having had my girl friend move to Wales to look after her son because her ex husband is possibly dyeing and thats where they live.
with that going on and the unrelenting back ache and knee pain I needed out.
gave storm a good run 90 odd mile and I'm now in TOTAL AGONY, such is life
