Bloody weather....Iv'e been outside since 6.30 this morning and it's cold, drizzly, overcast and a bit foggy Just an hours worth of sunshine would be nice so I can get some spraying done. Is that really too much to ask. Iv'e done my rubbing down and had to come back in because I'm shivering and need to thaw out.

look on the bright side, if you hold the spray cans whilst shivering, they'll be perfectly shaken and ready to spray....

weathers shite here aswell. spent the last 3 days freezing my nags of in the cave doing flywheels

what's pissed me off today, receiving my 3rd parking ticket in a week, all because the parking wardens are uneducated morons. the estate changed from 5hr parking scratch cards to 7hrs cards.
seems like no one has told the parking monkeys this.........
just means I have another ticket to contest ffs

found a nice crack in the downpipes of the yellow bike time to rip em off and get the spares on.

So I crashed my race bike (VFR) at Easter, hurt my hand as the semi high side threw me over the top, was bloody painful that one. I went to A&E the next day, then Fracture clinic 2 days later, they told me I had a chip on the knuckle on my right middle finger and a splinter just behind the nail, they gave me a mallet splint as the tendon is attached to the splinter and told me to come back in 2 weeks or if it felt ok don't bother, well I did bother as wanted to be sure it was ok to bend the finger. Was looking forward to racing at Snetterton in a week and a half so hoping it was ok (lots to do on the bike aswell).. So the doc checks it and say take the splint off but keep it on at night for a while (makes sense), then looked at my Thumb where it meets the hand, wiggled it all around, compared it with the other thumb then sends my for an ultrasound. When that's done I go back to the doc and he tells me I have Gamekeepers Thumb, ok I think so needs a bit of Physio, No he say it needs an Operation or I'll never be able to fully grip with my right hand, I ask when and he says tomorrow and then in plaster for 4-6 weeks so after them taking bloods I go back to work and frantically get as much as possible done, work late to sort as much as possible, made calls and emails to postpone jobs, some cancelled altogether but most understood. got home and had a call saying don't bother tomorrow they have too many trauma patients, but it will be Friday or Saturday as they don't want to leave it longer, if it heals too much they say it's inoperable.. So 6am on Friday I have to call, no food or drink from midnight the night before. I'll be in work tomorrow calling to try and get some work back and postponing other work (again). they say no work but I have to work I have no choice, no work = no business.

The thing is I can grip quite well, it's painful at times but has been feeling better every day and getting stronger, It will heal they say but as said my grip will be compromised, but I'm asking myself by how much ??.. I'm going to try riding my bike tomorrow evening and see how the grip is then (assuming it's still summer )

Anyway what a long post, but needed to get it off my chest... what a bloody

parking ticket number 10 in a month, they have to be the most incompetent company on the face of the earth.

Bejezus Malc thats some bad news for you...really hope the op sorts that out....best get it done despite the agg it's causing you.

And I was purposely leaving Grainstorm weekend free in the hope of coming up and putting some miles on the MT, no chance of that now

update.
After lots of googling on the symptoms I phoned this morning and asked to speak to one of the doctors who I'd seen as I had a few questions, got a call back from the chief doc's secretary saying in any case the consultant wanted to see me before surgery. So I went back in a 4pm today and this time got to see the hand specialist. he agree'd it may well be an old injury they saw on the ultrasound and that if it was fresh he would expect to see more swelling and more tenderness along with more of a floppy thumb, so after pulling it in all directions and comparing it to my other thumb he concluded I don't need an operation he said I needed to go in a cast for 3 weeks and then it should be ok (once I got it moving again), being a stubborn old git I asked does it really need a cast. will a splint do the same job, he asked if I could trust myself to leave it on all the time, of course I said yes so got a splint. also the broken finger where they told me yesterday I didn't need the mallet splint anymore he said was wrong and it needs to stay on for another 3 weeks too.. If I don't then the end of my finger would go floppy and need an op, if I take the thumb splint off then the ligament could detach and again an op but this time would be a bigger op as they'd need to find the tendon or pinch a bit of tendon from further up my arm..

So good news really.. why am I still wanting to race at Snetterton next weekend I did ask and he said he can only advise me to leave the splints on but it was my choice in the end, take the risk or not ??

At least I don't have to have any time off work as it's getting busy now, I can't take on as much as I'm working one and a bit handed, but can ask one of the lads who work next door if I'm struggling as long as I don't nick them for too long.
