I've been busy working everyday lately so not much has been done & the frame is still sitting/balancing on the bench after welding on the spine reinforcing.

What I have done though is found a bargain Weber 45dcoe from an RX7 Not too sure if it'll give me more grief than performance but for £130 delivered I've gone & bought it.

I haven't a clue what jets/chokes are in it but what the Rx7 lads recommend are 40mm chokes & with it being a high reving motor of an alleged 1300cc I might get a lucky ball park setup we'll see..

The more I read about these Weber carbs the more worried I get.

I recon It's going to need a 50/55dcoe to get the best out of it. Cheapest 50 I've seen on eBay is £350 +p&p.

Lucky I'm at it non stop atm.

Last thing, if anyone has any ideas what jetting should work with a 45dcoe vtr lump please post. Or if they have any recommendations of what's the ultimate 50/55 dcoe setup please post.

You need to eat more beans Well I started scrolling through the pics and could not quite work out what was what, then came to the wide shot with the tank and tail in place, then WOW. Looks great and the angle of the tank and rear end is spot on. There is a slight dip in middle which gives it a nice curve or rather gives that illusion. One question....how are you going to do the rear suspension. I can't see a way for that rear end to pivot. It looks like you have welded the bottom into place and then with your triangualar piece there, how is the shock going to mount.

Hi Carl, the swingarm pivots on the engine just like normal, it's a Vtr engine & swingarm

One thing that was important to me was that I was able to fit the shorter VTR swingarm to the Vtr engine & then onto the Varadero frame.

There's a big difference in the lower engine casings between the Varadero/Vtr engines & the shock linkage is totally different. It took some working out & tbh in the end I took a chance & bought all the bits to see if it would all fit together. A bit of a risk but I had a feeling it might work out & it has.

It all lines up perfect, but with fitting the shorter Cbr929 rear shocker, I've had to grind a lot of swing arm away to clear the spring Hence me looking for a Ac/Dc tig to weld up the swingarm.

I'm working for the next 4 days, so all quiet again. Hopefully the Mazda Rx7 jetted weber 45dcoe will arrive before the weekend. I'm looking forward to finding out what chokes & jets have been fitted
